    1. Sees world in terms of international view.

I can see this to a degree, but I also feel that there are a good majority of people who are wealthier that focus most on what is directly around them. For instance, a lot of wealthier individuals still believe that climate change isn't an American issue, but rather an issue that doesn't concern them. A lot of Middle class Americans are the same way, seeing that 'oh the world might or might not be in danger, but it's probably (insert broad and controversial foreign country often viewed as a threat to America).

    1. Offering students an opportunity to identify as multiracial also has reduced the dominance of a single race in districts.

I'm actually kind of shocked that it took as long as it did for this to become a statistic that could and would be studied. Why does being multiracial have to be an option that was brought in later? If anything, I would have imagined it being an option pretty quickly.

    1. “For some reason, that simple act and belief changed my entire perception of schooling, and life really,” he said. “She was the first person who saw something good in me.”

I know that it's cliche to mention this, but I've always been a serious believer in this. It's very easy to belittle your own abilities, let alone view yourself in a better light. As teachers, it's really easy to get caught up in just making sure everyone's going along through the courses, and as long as you don't see regression, it seems good. Speaking life into students and peers can really make a vast difference in the way they perceive themselves.

    1. I find that part of the issue in discussing privilege, is that even individuals who have LOTS of privilege want to be acknowledged for their hardships.

This is something I've dealt with personally. There are lots of privileges that I have that I don't want to define me, and therefore I have in the past pointed to all of the hardships that I've dealt with instead of even considering acknowledging the privilieged position I have within society (I'm getting better at it now.) My biggest concern was that people would only see the positives in my life and belittle the rest, but for a lot of people, they have the exact opposite problem. They belittle the accomplishments that they have and emphasize the small negative situations that are often without control.
