      Someone with more knowledge is well respected than someone with skills. Skills are very important, but those skills wont be as effective if you don't know how to use them.

      Harrison started out by saying that social history is based on a group of people with no political importance, yet he states that social history is about doing something big, without expecting something in return. I feel like he's trying to say it should remain that way.

      It would take more time than the Carnegie Unit, but still, it would definitely be more effective. Through this, students receive credits based on their achievement and not because they spent a specific amount of time in class. Students get to pace themselves and understand concepts better.

      Yes I agree that skills come from repetition. In order to repeat/practice a specific skill, you need time. The problem is that some people don't use their time wisely, so it defeats the whole purpose of credit hour.

    1. It is not only that Du Bois was black and other sociologists were white, or that Du Bois suffered from lack of capital, it is also that he had dangerous ideas.

      This stood out to me because the people seem to be afraid of his intelligence rather than his race. He has proven how powerful he is mentally through his ideas.
