    1. the prevention of drunkenness by providing for every man a clean and comfortable home.

If that's true then why are the worst alcoholics celebrities who live in luxury homes and mansions?

    2. “one half of the world does not know how the other half lives.”

A version of this could probably be said even today, except its not really half. It's more like, there are a bunch of different groups and individuals refusing to even try to get to know the other ones. I'm willing to bet there were more than just two sides even back then, because life never works on a binary. The issue is that most people adopt an "us vs. them" philosophy without truly under understanding who the "other side" really is.

    1. No ranks, no titles, no hereditary dignities, and therefore no classes

Except there were, the government has and has probably always had ranks and/or titles, and the military has them as well. One of the post civil war presidents was a veteran who had held the rank of General. And this is literally something that an upper class citizen is writing (Or rather, having someone write for him). If classes didn't exist, then unions would not have literally been invented to oppose guys like this. He was upper class, and the people he exploited to achieve that rank were lower and possibly middle class. And then he goes on to use the word class in reference to "naturalized citizens". So which is it Andy, do classes exist or not?
