incorporating AI-generated images into existing forms of therapy could be one way of diminishing risk
Incorporating this into therapy with professionals sounds safer to me than just accessing it in online forums.

AI-generated child pornography could act as a form of harm reduction, a philosophy that underlies many public health policies.
While it is difficult for me personally to condone, I would like to see a long term review on the impact of AI CSAM, and if it successfully rehabilitates these individuals without creating new contact offenders.
AI-generated child pornography actually could stem behavior that would hurt a real child.
While I appreciate the idea of this, I cannot morally sign off on real children not being hurt by AI CSAM!!! Children are still being victimized by this as it normalizes the sexualization of children.
That’s because the makers of child pornography are typically child abusers, who will not refrain from abusing children because of changing demand for the images they collect of the abuse they inflict.
The cycle will continue whether people are consuming AI child CSAM or real child CSAM, children will be victimized regardless.
From that perspective, any inappropriate viewing of children is an inherent evil, regardless of whether a specific child is harmed.
This is my moral philosophy, and why I cannot condone or support the use of AI in this matter, even if people are using it as a means of protecting "real victims".
Regulators and law enforcement already comb through an enormous amount of images every day attempting to identify victims
We already use an absurd amount of funding on law enforcement, we can't be wasting valuable resources on attempting to identify victims that simply don't exist.
stopgap
I appreciate the idea of this, I just don't agree that it's a stopgap I think AI used in this way could instead be a gateway for non-offenders to become exposed to CSAM, and for offenders to seek out contact offenses.
What turns us on sexually, we don’t decide that—we discover that,”
This line of reasoning is incredibly weak; if a serial killer is sexually gratified from killing people, that doesn't mean that we should encourage their actions.
pedophilia is biological in nature, and that keeping pedophilic urges at bay can be incredibly difficult
I understand this notion, but believe that prevention measures should be explored rather than feeding into their desires that could lead to the viewing of real (non AI) CSAM.
AI models can produce photorealistic, fake images of child sexual abuse, regulators and child safety advocates are worried that an already-abhorrent practice will spiral further out of control.
This is incredibly disheartening and scary- I wonder what the number of AI-generated CSAM images on the dark web has already grown to over the last couple of years as AI has become more accessible.
