    1. And naturally he measured the world and the people around him through financial success.

Because our world is also seen within different groups or classes such as the middle class or the working class and such we all see ourselves in different classes whether if we are in the lower class or in the higher classes.

    2. It’s necessary for developing strong boundaries and deciding who you want to be a part of your life and who you do not

And as you should choose your own boundaries and decide for yourself. You make the choices if you want to be someone with a lot of money you work for it or someone that wants to be known you make yourself known instead of just envying the people who has all of that stuff. You can decide what you want to do or what can happen in your future

    3. One stands out and determines your happiness more than others.

It all depends on how happy you are in the categories that you are being judged in or the categories that your are comparing yourself with. If you’re happy with your standing in that category then you wouldn’t have to complain or such with that category.

    4. He measured himself through his social status. And naturally he measured the world and the people in it through social status

Which became a norm in our world today and back in the past such as monarchs and dynasty and what they have in common is that there is always someone on top of that pyramid that is better than the rest.

    5. If someone was rude to her it was because they were intimidated by her beauty or their own lack of beauty

    1. These formal devices undergird an important theme of the novel: marriage—as the only career option for women—results in sensible women being wedded to foolish men and young girls’ thoughtless actions either forever ruining their chances for a stable life or chaining them to men who do not genuinely care for them. Austen exposes and denounces occupational marriage and the limits on females in her society.

And it all varies in different relationships some people do it for the money, for the love, or just for fun and some would realize their true intentions of why they wanted to be in a relationship but some wouldn’t know the real reasons whether if it’s to fake a relationship just for the money or to give money to make a relationship. Austen would try to explain this norm in the book and how women and men are both in a fake relationship just to get married to live an unhappy marriage.

    2. The fact that Mr. Collins is inferior to many other men in the novel does not lessen Charlotte’s accomplishment. She is aware of his shortcomings when she accepts him. Her thoughts at the time are described as “in general satisfactory”.xi Mr. Collins fills a need for her. She is practical and sees matrimony for what it truly is to her – not an emotionally fulfilling relationship, but a business deal.

This is more of like a mutual goal for the both of them. Collins gets the happiness of being a relationship while charlotte gets the marriage part and not the relationship ideal.

    3. Furthermore, the idea of marriage being less about one’s heart and more about one’s wallet is repeated throughout the story.

And not only it is seen in the story but it’s also see in reality as many people would try to marry a wealthier person than themself so they don’t have to worry about living in debt.

    4. A more straightforward description of reality would have been that a single woman in possession of no fortune must be in want of a husband. The irony of this initial sentence introduces the novel masterfully

And I agree with this but instead of having a woman with no fortune trying to marry a wealthy man the book gives 4 daughters that live in somewhat of a wealthy family but they still have to marry a wealthy man because they can’t hold with their father’s wealth.

    5. Nevertheless, her incessant efforts to find suitors for her children are described as a “business.”

What this whole sentence is trying to explain is that with the mother’s idea of her daughters being just “business” also implies that she just wants them to be married for the wealth and status.
