    1. Whatever it is, make time every day to take care of you. Your students will appreciate your showing up with a full cup, rather than drained and overwhelmed.

      Taking care of yourself can easily slip from you when you're overwhelmed with work or other things. It's never been as important as it is now to take time for myself. With the pandemic, student teaching, and working, it would be easy to lose myself in all the work and stress involved with these things. The last sentence in this sentence sticks with me. Not only do I need to take time to recharge for myself, but I need to for my students as well.

    2. just as I encouraged my students to have a growth mindset, I needed to give myself grace to grow from my mistakes, too.

      To me, this is a very important statement to keep in the back of my mind. It's easy to forget that we are always still learning and won't be perfect the first time around. I want my students to have a growth mindset and not hold on to their mistakes. This is something I need to focus on and remember for myself as well. I cannot expect my students to do it, if I haven't done it myself.
