    1. I've seen this piece a lot when I've visited the Seattle art museum (which is quite a lot) and I never really understood what it was about or what it meant. I know there's panels and plaques up but it still confused me. Hearing Saya talk about it and how long she's worked on it for and how many people were involved was so interesting to me as I've never had such a long project, or done collaborative pieces like that. I've always liked her use of color and visuals in the exhibit.

    1. Storytelling is such a central part to how this community has survived- 0;40, I agree and the way he put that was really insightful. Lawrence had a good idea when he started to paint and dramatize the whole story throughout the years and taking the facts and putting them into his titles. His paintings speak to people who can identify with them and Lawrence not shying away is important because all these stories are important to talk about in regards to human and black history. The painting of the noose on the tree is a much less colorful image and has a very grey and bleak background, which stood out to me a lot when it was shown.

    1. The costumes look cool and I like how he integrated three forms of art into one Is he still doing this to this day? Since it's been 12 years since this interview Holy shit I almost applied to the art institute of chicago The bright and vibrant colors are nice and I wonder if he chooses colors on purpose I relate to what he said about his ideas and how it can feel like theyre just bursting and filling his head.
