      when teachers have a strong understanding of a child's cognitive and emotional development they can better support parents and help children by focusing on the child's needs, goals and interest and by having quality care focused on respect, response, and relationship. I believe the role of an infant toddler teacher are both challenging and rewarding.

      Article focuses on examples from teachers. Two of a larger set of examples from teachers are brieflysummarized here:1. Child pushing friends down and knocking materials off shelf. Met with parents and learned childliked to see things fall. Created a structure for dropping and rolling things down. Child did thisrepeatedly over 2 days; then stopped knocking materials and pushing friends

      When teachers do observations and assessment of children and meet with and build relationships with families to better understand a child's behavior, then they can offer appropriately developmental activities to focus on the child's interest, and offer a positive learning outcome.

      the assessment of individual children’s progressthrough ongoing observation by those caring forand educating the infant/toddler using an earlylearning framework that articulates developmentalprogressions (such as the Head Start EarlyLearning Outcomes Framework or state ELGs), andobservation of the infant/toddler’s own interests andmotivation for learning

      It's very important for the caregivers/teacher to observe and assess individual children to see how the child is developing and meeting their milestones. Through observation you will also learn what motives the child and his/her interest as well as their likes and dislikes. By using learning frame work when observing and assessment will help the teacher with class activities, setting up the environment and set learning goals for the individual child.
