    1. We cannot go on permitting men to vote and forcing them to tramp. We cannot go on educating boys and girls in our public schools and then refusing them the right to earn an honest living. We cannot go on prating of the inalienable rights of man and then denying the inalienable right to the bounty of the Creator.

This just shows how everything is very hypocritical in a way because theres certain things that we have to do like go to school, get a job but then its for nothing because it's not a fair system for everyone.

    2. They who look upon Liberty as having accomplished her mission when she has abolished hereditary privileges and given men the ballot, who think of her as having no further relations to the every-day affairs of life, have not seen her real grandeur—to them the poets who have sung of her must seem rhapsodists, and her martyrs fools

I agree with this statement because people who look upon Liberty have not been failed by the system. They're privileged and didn't have to experience what others did.

    3. Equality of political rights will not compensate for the denial of the equal right to the bounty of nature. Political liberty, when the equal right to land is denied, becomes, as population increases and invention goes on, merely the liberty to compete for employment at starvation wages. This is the truth that we have ignored.

As we allow the rights to be taken away from us, poverty gets worse and now theres people begging and having a simple job just simply isn't enough to survive and eat. Equal political rights wont change that.

    4. the evils arising from the unjust and unequal distribution of wealth, which are becoming more and more apparent as modern civilization goes on, are not incidents of progress, but tendencies which must bring progress to a halt; that they will not cure themselves, but, on the contrary, must, unless their cause is removed, grow greater and greater, until they sweep us back into barbarism by the road every previous civilization has trod.

We live in a society thats meant for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer and this will continue to happen as time goes on and new inventions are made.

    1. They can be nothing but the humblest laborers, on account of their dark complexions; hence many of them lose their ambition, and become worthless. Look at our middle-aged men, clad in their rusty plaids and coats; in winter, every cent they earn goes to buy their wood and pay their rents; their poor wives also toil beyond their strength, to help support their families.

this whole paragraph shows that the simple color of their skin determines their success in life which is not fair at all. We should keep fighting for equal rights and opportunities because just because someone is white doesn't mean that black people have to serve them and be any less.

    2. Their reply has been—for their own part, they had no objection; but as it was not the custom, were they to take them into their employ, they would be in danger of losing the public patronage.

Equal opportunities were not given for several reasons but here we see that one of them is so that they don't loose their "patronage" so the benefits and sponsorships would be lost which ties into capitalism.

    3. O, had I received the advantages of early education, my ideas wo

this statement shows how African Americans don't and didn't have the same access to things we take for granted today like an education. If they did have access to it they would be great and successful as well.

    4. If we say we will go to a foreign land, the famine and the pestilence are there, and there we shall die. If we sit here, we shall die. Come let us plead our cause before the whites: if they save us alive, we shall live—and if they kill us, we shall but die.

this is a very powerful statement because she is saying that african americans are living to die, essentially if we lived like them, in famine, we will die. if the white people save them they live, and if not they die.
