    1. role of media production skills

I work a bit in this field, and if the people making the media aren't thinking critically about what they're producing, stereotypes or inaccessibility will keep getting perpetuated

    2. Might media literacy education help to increase knowledgeand/or shape attitudes about media’s roles and practices pertaining to race andethnicity?

      I think definitely!

We can send people to the moon... I would hope this wouldn't be that difficult

    2. ased on these search results, constructions of women’s identities and inter-ests seem to be based on traditional, limited sexist norms, just as they are in the traditional media.

Media through the lens of the male gaze

    3. Google searches on every variation you can think of for women’s and girls’ identities and you will see many of the ways in which commercial interests have subverted a diverse (or realistic) range of representations.

The way women are portrayed in the media is very intersectional, and disappointing...

    1. Replay again with the picture off

It's funny because if you've ever been watching a show or movie on mute, it takes away so much of the emotional response we feel when we consume video based media. This is a cool exercise because it really helps divide the media into separate layers.

    4. To participate in today’s global society, citizens need the skills to access, analyze, evaluate, create and participate with media information 24/7.

It's funny to think about the fact that my generation was one of the last to grow up without media access everywhere, anywhere, anytime. It was nice to grow up like that! I wonder if kids today feel overwhelmed at all, or if that's just their normal.

    5. Looking at a media message or experience from just one perspective is NOT media • literacy because media should be examined from multiple positions

This makes a lot of sense to me. One perspective would be missing that "critical" aspect I feel like, thinking about something critically takes multiple perspectives.

    6. “inquiry process”

I work for a group called InquiryHub and that was my first exposure to this type of learning. I'd never even known about it before that. I think it's so cool!!
