I follow Richardson, who argues that “[t]he ethnographic life is not separable fromthe Self” (Richardson & St. Pierre, 2005, p. 965) and sees the potential of personal narrativesin using them as “the structures through which [we] make sense of [our] world” (p. 966).
I, nonetheless, do not see this project as an opportunity for self exploration, even though that is a result. These memories, moments, and conversations already belong to me, and I don't need to put them into this format in order to necessarily learn from them. I see this project as a way for one person who has experiences similar to many others to reflect honestly about how learning and applying concepts in a small-scale, relatively informal setting can be challenging, confusing, and isolating.
