    1. The ArchivoHistórico de la Policia Nacional (ahpn) is the outcome of Cifuentes’s chance find,its documents indicating the reverse of what one might expect: that an entity re-sponsible for investigating crimes was instead geared to committing them.

      He uses another author K. E. Welds book as an important source. He references the evidence from the authors work many times to make points and to give the reader insight into the events that occurred.

      This sentence is where the author is stating the purpose of the the article. Here the author states the event that they want to discuss and while there may not be a true solution its a step towards awareness on the subject.

    1. I believe topic sentences and references to rival positions to be some of the more important points made. Topic sentences are important because they give you insight into what each argument is going to be about. Its also important to notice when an author is referencing rival work, and to make sure that they don't stray to far from their original argument. I don't believe a different approach is needed when looking at different written works. I believe fiction or nonfiction has a point or argument that is being made within each work, and can be analyzed in the same way.
