That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud-puddles, or gives me any best place!
Soujourner truth is speaking about the original experience of a black woman at this time. She was pointing out how she sees how other women are treated like women. They are helped into carriages, lifted over mud puddles and are treated dainty. She is stating how she's a woman as well so why am I exempt from this treatment? This shows intersectionality because Black women were not treated the same as white women due to both their race and gender.
