    1. I may seem to be bit morbid in this but i see why the rich had him assassinated. If I had millions of dollars and was faced with the thought of losing millions of dollars simply because I was lucky by birth I would want to see how I could keep it. On the other hand I can see how it would definitely benefit the US as a whole. While making a minimal impact on their lives BUT when he changed the amount by such a huge amount I would wonder how long it would stay at 50,000,000 then drop down to 10,000,000 then next thing you know it is 100,000. I truly believe this would actually be beneficial if they were to take the average household income in the US and multiply it by 500 that would be the cap and each year it would be recalculated it would be beneficial to all elderly, infirm, or just anyone who truly needs help. The median household income in the US is $81,868.00 if you multiply that by 500 you get $40,934,000 if you can't live off that there is a serious issue.

      It is so incredible how different the views of W.E.B. DuBois and Booker T. Washington were. But it is so very easy to see where both men were coming from. With how prevalent racism is now imagine how much more blatant it was in the 1800s.

      As a former slave this must have been a very hard thing to wrap his head around, but when Booker T. Washington was writing the Atlanta Compromise, as a free man this was the easiest way for him to try to get the White men and women to see his people as equals. Hell even today the line "Cast down your bucket where you are." is still incredibly powerful and is very good advice for anyone especially with everything going on in the world right now.
