    1. When I examine the present state of American democracy, I believe we are living in one of the most terrifying moments in the history of this nation.

      I have to agree. we are living in a scary time and there is not much we can do about it we did try to change how we did things and sometimes no ones voices get heard.

      sometimes having individuality sparks some issues but i have to agree with this statement.

      Most people think they are not like the others but in fact they are like the others. we are live and try and strive for the best and everyone wants that

      I think people knowing when and WHY they are wrong is super important. Knowing the why is just as important because we need to know how to improve.

    3. When people hear the word bias, many if not most will think of either racial prejudice or news organizations that slant their coverage to favor one political position over another.

      Normally when I hear the word bias I think of things being unfair or something has more of an advantage than something else.

    1. states should make a greater effort to raise individual awareness of democratic freedoms and civic responsibilities, and encourage impactful participation

      I think that there should be more talk about voting and just political talk in communities more. I feel like this year there was a lot of advertisement to vote and get your voice heard but I feel like it's just not talked enough and I feel like it should be.

    2. The COVID-19 pandemic has placed doctors, epidemiologists, and other scientists at the center of crisis response.

      My brother works in a hospital and he will come home and tell us that Doctors and Nurses feel so sad that people come in alone who really need support and hearing that is so sad. Frontline workers don't get enough credit for what they do.

    3. Donald Trump’s inclination, oppose them, claiming they would increase voter fraud.

      The voter fraud makes sense and all but I feel as though as a country we need to do better in this pandemic, the safest way to get your vote in was though mail. It avoided one on one contact and over all it was a safer choice.

    4. Five particularly salient ones are: protecting the safety and integrity of elections, finding the right place for expertise, coping with resurgent populism and nationalism, countering homegrown and foreign disinformation, and defending the democratic model.

      I think these five alone are huge issues in general but I feel like they can also cause other problems within each other
