    1. persistence and degree completion.

I believe that it is not only persistence and degree completion that we should be looking at. I believe we should be looking at their lives and their future. I think it is important to look at their jobs and future and how things end up after college. I think that the impact of free college would be worse than the impact of cheaper options for college. If the colleges are cheap, the students will not try and work as hard as if they were paying tens of thousands of dollars. I was shocked they only mentioned persistence and degree completion. Lots of people can complete their degree, but everyone who does leaves and finds a good job or stays out of trouble.

    2. The ultimate goal of any free college policy should be to increase the number of students who complete a four-year college degree.

Before reading about this topic I wanted to make an annotation about what this is saying. I personally do not believe that college should be free. College is extra school that you are choosing to attend in order to have a better future. I think that if it was free than the point of college would kind of be thrown in the garbage. I understand that we want to give everyone the opportunity to go to college and better their future even if they are broke and have no money, but I believe that there should be a few colleges that that are very cheap compared to other alternatives because we know that college is extremely expensive. I believe that having colleges that are super cheap and the students still have to work to get in, would be better than free college. Life is all about working for what you want and putting your best effort in to better your future. I am excited to read what they are going to say about this topic!

    1. This group includes around 60 per-cent of all male college graduates and about 45 percent of all female college graduates.

Does this effect how women think about the future. Do more women not care about the future and just care about finding a husband and being a mom because they know they will never make as much money as men do? And why is it that men get paid more? Are men smarter? because I do not think men are smarter in any way compared to women.

    2. It’s no secret that, on average, women – even those with equivalent education and experience – typically earn less than men.

I am very interested with this very first sentence. It interests me because I feel as though this gap is almost gone. i never think about how women get paid less than men because I feel as though we do not get paid less than men. I have never been in a working environment where men are paid more just because they are male. I feel as though I never have really listened or understood or read about this gender gap, so i am excited to see how the pay is different and why that is and how the future will hopefully be different and the male and females will have equal pay.

    1. “Amazon heroin, because you just kept going, and you had to get your next fix, your next check

I do agree that a lot of people are obsessed with amazon. Many people would rather buy things off of amazon rather than somewhere else even when it is cheaper. My dad for example loves amazon and tends to buy everything on it. Its weird to me that a lot of people just stick to amazon and not try to save money by finding it somewhere else for cheaper.

    2. 2.5 million third-party sellers

This is shocking to me that they have over 2.5 million third-party sellers. Its crazy that more than half of the stuff on amazon is sold by people like me and you. There are a lot of people that do drop shipping on amazon as well which makes me a little bit more scared and skeptical when buying products from amazon

    3. Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos testified that he couldn’t confirm that the company didn’t use data it collects regarding sales of products in its marketplace to launch its own private-label goods

so if he cant confirm that then shouldn't we assume that it does use the data it collects. This is interesting that he did not have an answer to this question and just ignored it. I feel as though he does know the answer to this question and is trying very hard to avoid it.

    1. Economics is often called the "dismal science" for its insistence that choices must be made because resources are limited

This is true that economics is the study of how firms and individuals make decisions based off of their few resources in order to better themselves. Although, I do not understand how it is often called the "dismal science." Doesn't that mean that they are shaming economists and making fun of it in a way?

    2. rise to influence that trans-formed the business of government, the conduct of business, and, as a result, the patterns of everyday life.

They are saying that economics is changing and I believe they are starting to say that it is important. They say that it changed the business which I am guessing means that they are starting to better understand the economy and how to improve their business based on the economic teachings.

    3. The court described the eco-nomic evidence as irrelevant

They are saying that economic evidence is irrelevant when it clearly is not irrelevant. They keep shaming economics and do not realise how important the study and understanding of economics is in order to grow as a country.
