Hyperlinks take users quickly and directly to their desired location and change to a different colour one clicked. This can help users navigate smoothly around the website and prove particularly helpful / beneficial to those who might have mental or cognitive difficulties, making it easier to track where they’re going and where they’ve been

    2. Français

Canada’s two official languages are English and French. As such, it’s not only important that an official Canadian government website provides the option for both languages, but having that option to toggle between them higher up on the page greatly benefits those who might require text-to-speech or who are unable to use a mouse as they wouldn’t need to navigate to somewhere like the bottom of the page just to change it.

    3. As far as I can tell, the images don’t seem to contain alt-text. While the focus of this specific webpage is more so on text than it is on images, ensuring that alt-text functionality is present throughout the website, especially when image reference is or could be important to understanding an explanation, is important to ensure that those with visual impairments can still benefit from their use

    4. Most requested

Having the most requested sections higher up on the website aids greatly in navigation. Beyond just the general convenience for users, it simplifies the process for individuals who rely on text-to-speech technologies or can’t use a mouse as those users wouldn’t need to go through the entire page just to try and find what they’re looking for. Wording could potentially change to “Most Visited” or “Popular Pages” to make it clearer what this section is for, but I think it still works well overall

    5. Canada.ca

The website itself contains a well contrasting colour palette which allows information to be presented clearly and comfortably for users. This makes it easier for users to navigate the website without feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated, and also allows those with color blindness to navigate without issue.
