    2. I shall be telling this with a sigh

      My interpretation:

This last stanza seems to show the inevitable (unavoidable) regret that the speaker has ➡️ because in the first place he could not decide, then even after he decided, he still regrets his decision because he will never know which was the best path for him.

This poem ultimately shows that when it comes to certain tough irreversible decisions in our lives, we will never really know the outcome either way and we might not be sure about which path is the best ➡️ but we will feel regret about the things that we didn't do or the things that we never tried in life.

    3. Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back.

these lines seem to be contradicting because he "kept the first for another day" yet he says he "doubted if he should ever come back"

      why so contradictory?

so he is telling himself that he can always come back but he is not sure actually he is very doubtful that he would able redo this choice

    4. Then took the other, as just as fair,

Here in this line, it shows that the speaker decided to take "the other" path (he was justifying that it is "just as fair")

    5. one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I could

The speaker / character in the poem seems to be thinking carefully because he was so indecisive and unsure which path to choose ➡️ he doesnt want to take the wrong path so he tries his best to examine the road ahead because he's trying to guess what lies ahead / his future

He wants to take his time to make a proper decision so that he can avoid the regret of missing out the other road ➡️ idea of FOMO?

    6. And sorry I could not travel both

Sorry I could not travel both

Seems to imply that he was uncertain / unsure about what path to take + the idea that he was possibly regretful
