    1. However, we still have enough information to compile an extensive list of the most popular YouTube channels teenagers are watching. Here’s a list of the 8 most watched and talked about YouTube channels among high schoolers:

Honestly, I would like to see how this has changed since quarantine hit. It's important to learn about these youtubers and their channels and figure out if they're worth being idolized by our students.

    1. Teens (and adults) are trying to navigate many of these around racial equity, Islamophobia, and immigration

As educators we should familiarize ourselves with "isms" and learn what they are, how they effect our students, and if we have any biases towards the community of different "isms."

    1. Dating apps have become increasingly popular with young people. In 2013, just 5% of youth 18-24 reported that they use mobile dating apps; by 2015, that figure had grown to 22%

It's important to teach about online safety. Considering our future students won't know life without social media, etc, they probably believe that there is no harm to it. Especially with dating apps (lying about age, lying about who you are, etc.)

    2. YouTube is highly popular among middle- and high-school-aged youth; 85% of teens age 13-17 use the video-sharing platform [1].  Among social media platforms, YouTube is followed in popularity by Instagram (used by 72%) and Snapchat (69%) in the 13-17 year old age group [1].  Facebook continues to be used by teens; though its popularity waned considerably between 2015-2018; in 2018, 51% of teens age 13-17 said they use Facebook [1], down from 71% in 2015 [2]. The site is considerably more popular among teens from lower-income families; it is used by 70% of teens in this age group with an annual household income under $30,000 [1].  Twitter is used by about one in three teens (32%) [1].

Honestly, TikTok has probably surpassed these other apps.

    1. Educate themselves about students'communities, cultures, and histories

It's important to teach students' about different cultures and encourage them to attend events that highlight them.

Has this act been implemented already? Or is it a slower process that started on July 1st?

    1. From this process, we learned two things, one, that when you let the youth identify their own projects, the role of the organization becomes that of a facilitator. Secondly, we learned that we wanted to build this model into our organization in the long term by creating a youth advisory council that influences our future development.

This women-ran podcast discusses the current Lummi community. Some topics discussed are connecting with ancestors, spiritual wellness, and connecting between generations.

    1. Overrepresentation of African American Males in Exclusionary Discipline

This study talks about excessive discipline among African American male students. "By demonstrating alternative ways to seek positive attention and gain a sense of pride, African American males may reduce their discipline infractions and increase their sense of school belonging," (Darensbourg 205). This quote from the study summarizes the study and explains the importance of positive attention towards students.
