    1. Governing in the U.S. is messy not so much because government changes, but rather because of the constant change in what comes and goes within and around it.

Every 4 years the government can change due to whoever we voted for as angie stated. We are the ones that have the power to make an impact in our government. The Whitehouse will always be there in the same place but the people inside it are the ones that are changing.

    2. Articles of Confederation

The Articles of Confederation served as the first constitution of the United States. This document officially established the government of the union of the thirteen states.

    3. we will attempt to study American government from a number of perspectives.

I feel like we need to view politics with an unbiased mindset and see the different perspective first then put the pieces together to form our opinion about the topic,

    1. Even when it comes to your family and closest friends in your life–are you identical?  Do you always agree?  Want the same things?  See things the same way

The role of one's family and friends impacts them and their beliefs. With family for example you would grow up with them so you have taken some of the beliefs and ideas. The same goes with friends, you hang out with them and you would usually tend to hang out with people who have a common interest ( or not I can be wrong )

    2. There’s going to be conflict all of the time.  It can be in your face.  It can be deep below the surface.  It can be in the past.  It can be in the future.

I agree with this statement because conflict is something that cannot just disappear or go extinct. It can be avoided but only for a certain amount of time. Conflict is something that cannot be escaped.

    3. You can turn off the flame under a tea pot and stop the creation of steam.  But, you can’t do that to the causes of conflict between people.

This is a good example of how you can easily control one thing, in this case the flame, but when it comes to real life, you cannot easily turn off the 'flame' or conflict between people that easily.

    4. “Can’t we all just get along”.  Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world.

This right here is something that is so important in todays world. As much as we want to live in a perfect peaceful society, it just isn't possible because everyone has their own views and differences.

    1. judicial branch

The judicial branch is in charge of deciding the meaning of laws, how to apply them to real situations and whether a law breaks the rules of the constitution.

    2. Institutionalists generally focus on studying, understanding

I wonder how our government would be if people would view politics as institutionalists instead of "I'm right and you're wrong." And would it be much of a difference.

    3. The possibility that government, any government, can just as easily ruin you as save you

The fact that this can happen is insane. What is keeping us afloat is the same one that can tear us down. It also states "any government" which means it's not always the typical one we tend to think it is, but rather the other types of governments that we forget are governments.

    1. now it seems like more than normally that there is so much going on that can potentially challenge the bonds, connections, relations, by which we live.

I feel like now in present day with the 'awakening' we had in 2020 it has made many people realize that there is a lot more to politics and the government than we thought.

    1. Your ability to utilize what you have learned will save you from getting lost

Using what you have learned in your history courses, you can put that knowledge to use so that way you won't be persuaded easily by what you see in the media today.

    2. In this case, we must brush away the dirt (the people, personalities, drama, spin, that fills the news and so much social media)

A lot of people often tend to just see the government as something general while there is more to it. Since most people are on social media, what they talk about there is mostly sometimes just the first thin layer about the government & politics. Which is why it's a good thing to fact check or look deeper into the information you're seeing.

    3. Even if you are not normally engaged in what you would call “politics”,

This statement gave made me think about what people would view politics as. There are some people who don't really care much about politics for their own reasons. Compared to the people who are involved a lot more they both have different views about politics.
