      If me reading this pdf text is an illusion, but I am still "living", I believe my experiences would still be real. In Plato's Allegory of the cave, the prisoners' believe the shadows to be their reality and are content with their life until being exposed to what's outside. I believe we can consider a simulated reality "a cave" and experiences in it "the shadows. On that line of thinking, the simulated reality would be what is true to the brain, even if it's not the whole truth. If, the simulated reality were all you knew, it would not be deception until another reality was proven or revealed.
