There are many different worlds in which you live everyday. For example I have a sports world, home world, friends world, college world, home world, etc. Each world contains different experiences and is significant based on the context it is described with.

    4. evision, editing,

Yay! I often struggle with editing because after i write down one thing I cannot get my mind off of that one thing I brainstormed

    5. various writing situations and for various audiences

One of the main reasons i took this class was to become a strong writer and improve my skills for other areas

    1. A life story is written in chalk, not ink, and it can be changed.

This is good because people should never have to be held to expectations of what they were in the past. As their surroundings change they should be able to alter who they are and how they deal with life.

    2. foreshadowing in fiction in the first place is because of this human tendency

Since humans wrote the first stories, they like top predict the future and what is to come

    3. There’s something about the narrative form, specifically—while expressing thoughts and feelings about negative events seems to help people’s well-being,

I believe that recording experiences like a narrative can help a person understand what led to that outcome and walk through the story in their head

    4. going to come back and bite you if you don’t deal with it,”

I believe that this can relate to repressing traumatic events instead of talking about them

    5. traumas for whatever reason, they’re sort of in a double bind,

Growing up and watching moves, no matter how bad the event it was always a "happy ending" (happily ever after). But this is not always the case in life and some things do end poorly.

    6. finding a positive meaning in negative events is linked to a more complex sense of self and greater life satisfaction.

i find that being optimistic in bad times helps to confront problems instead of pushing them off.

    7. Many people have some smaller stories of each type sprinkled throughout their greater life story,

Example: Big story could be that you go to college but the smaller story is you go abroad and meet your best friends one year

    8. they stigmatize anyone who doesn't follow them to a T, and provide unrealistic expectations of happiness for those who do.

The classic narrative excludes many key parts of life (mental illness, broken relationships, sadness, growth, challenges, change, etc). These "perfect narratives" give people a false sense of what is ok and result in stigmatism.

    9. If you don’t tell, “your memory for that event may be less flexible and give you less chance for growth.”

connection: In shows people who hold in their feelings often cannot recall the stem/root of the trauma

    10. making decisions with the hopes of producing desired outcomes.

Children may think that they need to believe something their family does in order to please others. That is why these "desired outcomes" or pieces of stories may be affected by others

    11. People aren’t writing their life stories from  birth, though.

i believe this is another reason why others help create your life story. For example, most children grow up with some beliefs already instilled in them like politics. Other people around children form their life story too, like parents and siblings.

    12. But life rarely follows the logical progression that most stories—good stories—do,

Like I said in a previous annotation I believe this is because "good stories" often leave out the critical parts and challenges.

    13. And so it’s hard to be a human being and have relationships without having some version of a life story floating around.”

I believe this is because you share experiences with people you have a relationship with

    14. “Narrative is not a mode that has ever come easily to me.”

I always find it hard to write narratives of myself too. IO think this is because people think of themselves very critically. I may only focus on one side of my narrative instead of the whole picture, making it hard to write about the whole picture.

    15. there’s huge variation in the degree to which they engage in narrative storytelling in the first place.

Again, perspective comes into play here. Someone could decide to tell every detail of THEIR story but a different person may tell that same persons story in a different context.

    16. disjointed, avant-garde representation of their existence?

No, even if someones story and experiences are chaotic i believe it still represents their life story

    17. A life story doesn’t just say what happened, it says why it was important, what it means for who the person is, for who they’ll become, and for what happens next.

often times i find my life experiences and choices affecting the next experience and choice. they all string together to form one cohesive story.

    18. “Life stories do not simply reflect personality. They are personality,

Stories can be told in many different ways and from many different perspectives which is why a story reflects on a person

    19. but I suppose I thought there’d be more of a narrative arc.’”

What is expected in life often only is the positive aspects. Stories and expectations often forget to highlight the low points and challenges life also has to offer
