    1. I live so close to nature I feel a personal bond between myself and the animals. When I look deep into a farm animal’s eye; I can feel its sense of uniqueness. Over the years I have come to believe animals have some of the same characteristics that human cultures and societies exhibit.

Realizing that farm animals can be more human like than thought.

    2. Looking at the hen house and seeing the parallels between animal and human societies has been a way for me to understand and appreciate how I interact and fit in my own house and makes me glad I am one of the birds.

Animals and humans all have different personalities and can relate.

    3. Those two hens are pretty smart to sleep in till the food arrives; in fact, I am a lot like those hens because I love to sleep in.

I relate to the sleeping in. Sleep is so good!

    1. When I began to feel happy again is when I realized that I had to take the responsibility for getting better myself, rather than relying on medication and therapy alone.

This is something that I have had to realize as well.

    1. It’s not because I’m lazy or that I don’t care if my kids have a good party. I am just not wired in such a way that I can fashion sandwiches, made on my very own homemade, organic, gluten-free, sugar-free bread, into holiday-themed shapes. Nor can I make centerpieces that are totally precious using nothing but dental floss and a milk carton. And I’m perfectly fine with that, even though it’s taken me a long time to get here.

This speaks volumes, and I'm sure lots of moms feel this way.
