      This note shows Milton reminding the reader of the hierarchy; Satan is reduced to a "small night-bird," and then Milton also points out God's ability to see everything. There is a reason we are introduced to Satan first in the Book I and II, it naturally creates an imbalance. So by God entering the conversation a little later on, requires him to adjust that imbalance.

      This brief moment is easy to read through, but really contemplating the experience of Milton creating Paradise Lost while blind adds depth to his work. While he experienced a physical darkness, he was worked on creating a light, the idea of God's eternal light through literature.

    1. While the Bee with Honied thie, That at her flowry work doth sing,

      This image of a bee at work, brings to mind the ideals of the Puritan work ethic. Then following line, "That at her flowry work doth sing," leads me to the idea of bliss and being blissful from one's work.
