I never noticed this. I feel like this is really true. I could read a text and then see an image and it presents a whole new and even better idea in front of me than what I was thinking.
When you read, write, and think critically or rhetorically, you try to figure out why a message is being communicated in a certain way.
Everybody can interpret text differently, even if it is the exact same text.
When communicating, you make assumptions about the cultural traits of your audience, perhaps expecting that they will agree with you regarding certain values or beliefs.
I think this is super important!! I believe this is one of the main points in when you're writing. Knowing your audience is key.
Being critical in writing means making distinctions, developing interpretations, and drawing conclusions that stand up to thoughtful scrutiny by others.
I think constructive criticism is super important, even though with myself, I tend to have difficulty with taking and using it to remake my work to it's best potiental.
