    4. More to point, however, they offer a school-oriented, safe, and age-appropriate space where students can learn how to connect through social media.

These murals were interesting to me because they are all different learning outcomes of Project Based Learning.

    2. video

    3. . Schools

List of schools that are based around a 21st century learning style. Things that fall under this category are our two topic of research-- digital citizenship and project based learning.

Article title. Above in the website are various tabs one in specific leading to an about page of the author of the website/article.

    1. We are now in the second year of the program, and Greenleaf is available to other districts.

Evidence that this project was a success. The students and teachers all enjoyed the activity and the digital citizenship part of the lesson was taken out of the country.

    2. This year, we are taking a different approach by pairing each U.S. student with a Chinese student. In these one-to-one pairings, students can get to know each other better as individuals. My students have told me it is exciting when they find a common interest, such as swimming or certain TV shows, with a peer on the other side of the world.

A cool example of how digital citizenship is used in the classroom. This reminded me of a pen pal type of activity. This could be an important lesson to use when teaching students about digital citizenship especially when discussing all of the rules.

    3. n 2010, State College Area School District (SCASD) in Pennsylvania, USA, agreed to help develop a virtual international classroom exchange called the Schoolwires Greenleaf program. The program’s project-based curricu-lum paired U.S. students with Chinese learners to collabo-rate, foster global citizenship, and prepare students for the digital work environment.

This is important to know because it provides the readers with some trust since they are able to get an understanding of the background that this article came from. This paragraph is also an initial into to the article and the study that was conducted.

    4. By Sue Anderson

      Author of article.

    1. They identified nine components of digital citizenship, which are core to professional development activities for teachers in our project and for students and parents in terms of signing “admirable” user guidelines for school and home use of district devices (Richardson, 2009).

The nine components of digital citizenship are broken down here a little more technically.

    2. Now, almost two decades later our research suggests personal, wireless devices might be those nimble, shape shifters, capable of putting opportunity and access into the hands of learners, significantly changing teaching and learning

Interesting way of describing personal devices.

    3. The purpose of the study was to gain an understanding of the infrastructure required to support handheld devices in classrooms; the opportunities and challenges teachers face as they begin to use handheld devices for teaching and learning; and the opportunities, challenges and temptations students face when gaining access to handheld devices and wireless networks in K – 12 schools.

This statement is like the thesis of the paper, which is exactly the kind of research we could use to have as evidence for our project. This source will be discussing the use of devices in the classroom-- specifically personal devices and the limitations and strengths it provides for teachers and students.

    4. The majority of the classrooms in the school board have interactive whiteboards in addition to a variety of other technologies

Important to consider that there are no limitations with the word technology and that we need to consider the way we use it. In our case we are simplifying it down to just personal devices such as iPhone, iPad, ect.

    1. If you are the technology teacher, you can use this opening to build in some ELA reading and writing standards.

Important to consider because we are in an education technology integration class. This will allow us to tie what we are learning now into our project and future. #educ2332

    2. A PBL project can be an intentional and meaningful place to engage students in understanding digital citizenship

Exactly what we are trying to get across in our project. The connection between PBL and digital citizenship and how it is capable of working together. ##inquiryproject

    1. "9 Key Ps" of digital citizenship.

When working with students I think it is important for them to understand these 9 key things to know when working with digital citizenship. Especially for elementary when they are just being introduced to social media and personal devices. #digitalcitizenship

    2. 5. Property

This was interesting to me because it reminded me of the project we did for our about me video. We used creative commons as well. #educ2332

    1. Allow students to work at an appropriate pace

I think this is one of the biggest advantages because each person already works at their own pace so to be able to communicate your speed to the teacher is beneficial so that he or she is aware of the progress you are making and able to know if it is on the correct track/pace.

    1. Working your PLN involves a great deal of responsibility because you are almost certainly part of some-one else’s network.

I think it is important that we do not forget that there are pros and cons of working with PLN. This is a very beneficial method of learning but we must remember exactly what the quote says, that we are part of someone else's network. This can we looked at as a strength, yet weakness at the same time.

    2. PLNs open up doors to sources of information that were not even available a few years ago, and continually evolving technologies are making it easier to capture and tame the resulting information overload.

I think this is an important quote because of how true it is. PLNs have not only opened doors to various sources of information, but have also opened doors to various means of communication. We are able to use these resources as a way to communicate with people in other schools or even around the world. I think that these resources are what have strengthen collaboration.
