One way to think about affordances is to imagine the possible uses ofthe tools. Texting, for example, affords nearly instant sharing of brief mes-sages across wide geographic distances. Texting also allows for silent, moreprivate communication in a shared space.
This is definitely a new for me to think about affordances. I never really thought of texting as a tool of affordances but when you think about it, it really is a more secure way of sharing information with people you trust.
