    1. Other than the patient who withdrew, two patientsreported mild adverse symptoms: one complained of fatigue and thesecond of constipation and bloating

so did mastic gum cause constipation? Maybe I shouldn't take helicostop for at least a week and just continue with aloe and acai berry powder to see how things go.

Just hoping to God that aloe will eradicate h pylori alone ... stupid pills

    2. All eightpatients remained H. pylori positive by UBT immediately after fin-ishing mastic treatment,

so mastic gum has no effect against H pylori?

But I thought that was one powerful little resin! I feel bad now for the mastic gum

    1. supplement calcium-D-glucarate is a known beta-glucuronidase inhibitor, allowing estrogen to remain conjugated or “packaged for excretion” and safely eliminated from the body.

    1. In addition, fruits and vegetables to watch for include stone fruits (fruits with a pit), pears, raw apples, watermelon, beans, lentils, onions, garlic, green peppers, shallots, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and artichokes. These healthy foods can cause uncomfortable symptoms in the GI tract for many people. Similarly, fiber in whole grains and whole wheat bread ferments in the gut and causes gas.
    1. Hydrogen vs Methane SIBO As I explained earlier, when you have an overgrowth of bacteria in your small intestine, the carbs you eat are able to ferment before they can be broken down. This fermentation process releases hydrogen as a byproduct, so people with SIBO have elevated levels of hydrogen in their GI tract. This is why one of the most effective methods for diagnosing SIBO is to test the levels of hydrogen in your gut using a breath test. However, you’ll remember that SIBO can also cause an increase in methane levels because the hydrogen feeds single-cell organisms in your gut called archaea, which produce methane. This can actually help reduce your hydrogen levels. It also explains why you can have a false negative hydrogen test result and yet still have SIBO.
    1. Unexplained weight gain or weight loss resistance, regardless of diet and exercise (Conlon & Bird 2015) (Mathur, Kim, Morales, Sung, Rooks, Pokkunuri, Weitsman, Barlow, Chang & Pimentel 2013)Chronic fatigue syndrome/adrenal fatigue/feelings of sluggishness (Rao, Bested, Beaulne, Katzman, Lorio, Berardi & Logan 2009)Skin conditions (rosacea, acne, eczema, psoriasis)
    1. Lactobacillus helveticusThis species of probiotic reduces cortisol and anxiety. It can even reduce obsessive-compulsive thoughts. In one study, Lactobacillus helveticus was found to treat anxiety better than antidepressants. It was also able to reduce cortisol and increase serotonin levels.
    2. Lactobacillus plantarumOne study showed this probiotic to not only reduce the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, but it also significantly reduced patients’ anxiety. (Lorenzo-Zúñiga, Llop, Suárez, Alvarez, Abreu, Espadaler, Serra, 2014) This is because Lactobacillus plantarum increases dopamine and serotonin while lowering cortisol as well as reducing inflammation. You can get Lactobacillus plantarum by eating fermented vegetables such as kimchi and sauerkraut.
    3. Bifidobacterium longumResearchers have found that Bifidobacterium longum reduces cortisol levels and helps to alleviate numerous psychological side effects such as anxiety, paranoia, and obsessive behaviors and thoughts.
    4. Lactobacillus rhamnosusResearch has shown that supplementing with this probiotic species reduces anxiety. (Mohammadi, Jazayeri, Khosravi-Darani, Solati, Mohammadpour, Asemi, Adab, Djalali, Tehrani-Doost, Hosseini, Eghtesadi, 2016) This is done by changing the functioning of GABA receptors in the brain.
    1. Some types of soluble fiber are fermentable. This means they lose their water-holding capacity — so they may be ineffective for treating certain forms of constipation. In this case, the best choice for constipation is psyllium, which is a gentle, non-fermenting source of soluble fiber.
    2. This type of fiber absorbs water from your intestines to form a gel-like paste. This helps to soften the stool, improve the consistency, and facilitate passage. Foods containing soluble fiber include:
    1. Peppermint and Other Essential Oils Enteric-coated peppermint oil has proven to be effective in reducing symptoms like bloating in patients with IBS (26). In this study, the researchers found that peppermint oil decreases the production of hydrogen, a bacterial byproduct in patients with SIBO. Other essential oils — including oregano, tarragon, frankincense, wormwood, and clove oil — may also lend some relief. Do know that these oils can be potent. Before starting any essential oil regimen, check with a skilled practitioner to help you determine exact dosing. Intermittent Fasting Some people believe that intermittent fasting can help “starve” the bad bacteria. But this may not rid of the bacteria completely. Instead, starving them may make them harder to eradicate.
    1. Dietitians also should recommend food sources of nutrients commonly lacking in SIBO patients, such as liver and cold-water fatty fish (eg, salmon, mackeral, sardines). Liver is rich in vitamin B12, iron, and vitamin A, while cold-water fatty fish is rich in omega-3s and vitamin D.
    1. And there’s another reason we gain weight from a poor gut – Chris Kresser made note that, “someone with bad gut flora could eat the same amount of food as someone with a healthy gut, but extract more calories from it and gain more weight.”
    2. ‘”Bad guy” bacteria may be partly to blame for your junk-food cravings — by, for instance, sending out sugar-and-fat-jonesing signals via the gut-to-brain vagus nerve.”‘
    1. While I have high levels of both hydrogen and methane, I lean far more towards methane symptoms than hydrogen. When it comes to the SIBO weight gain connection, I don’t complain about my weight gain because I still remain fairly small. That said, a year ago I was eating about double what I am now, and about 7 pounds less.  Because of my research and all that has happened these past couple months, my approach for healing post-antibiotics this time is going to look much different than it has in the past (it will fall in line with my e-book vs. just doing and eating whatever I want). And furthermore, I will not stop until I find out what my underlying cause for SIBO relapse is.
    2. From my research, methane dominant SIBO correlates with weight gain more often for these 3 reasons: Slower transit time. I’ve talked about this at length in various places, but there is a correlation between slow transit time and methane production. Slow transit time means that food sits in the gut for far longer than it should, causing many problems, including weight gain. Archaea have been shown to affect the amount of calories your body absorbs by increasing the capacity of gut bacteria to digest specific glycans. (source) What does that mean? Yet again, a calorie is not a calorie. “So let’s say you have a high-fiber diet. Humans generally can’t eat fiber. Cows and ruminating animals have a lot of methanogens because the methanogens help facilitate digestion of fiber. So what does that mean? That means that you can get more calories from a meal if you’re a methane producer because you’re liberating calories from things that people who don’t have methane can’t get.” (source) Sluggish metabolism. 1. 7 down vote accepted It doesn't really make sense to merge Anaconda and a virtualenv, as Anaconda is a completely independent installation of Python. You can do it, typically by setting your PYTHONPATH, but things have a good chance of breaking when you do this sort of thing, and I would recommend against it.

      No point merging. ...

    1. conda will only keep track of the packages it installed. And pip will give you the packages that were either installed using the pip installer itself or they used setuptools in their setup.py so conda build generated the egg information. So you have basically three options.

CONTRADICTION!!! ... this was in year 2013 while answers above were in year 2015 ... did conda really change?
