I did not know what an inversion was before reading this, it's. very interesting just how many different weather emergencies there are.
Without the earth's natural environmental constituents-oxygen, water, fuel-the airplane, like man, could not exist.
SAYING: we have such a high dependency on the environment, yet we only look at the smaller picture (ex. the airplane) rather than the bigger picture (all of the resources that were used to build the airplane)
Instead of trackless terrain, we have the grid of city streets. Instead of seeking the sun's heat when we need it, or shunning it when it is too strong, we warm and cool ourselves with man-made machines.
DOING: showing us examples of how we disregard our environment with the creation of various machines that mimic the actions of earth's natural resources.
We who call ourselves advanced seem to have escaped from this kind of dependence on the environment.
because we are "advanced" we forget the dependence we have on the environment, oftentimes disregarding its' resources and our need for them.

Despite the fact that we are the ones living on this earth and benefitting from it's resources, we are the ones who exploit it and are driving its destruction.
he way in which we now live on the earth is driving its thin, life-supporting skin, and ourselves with it, to destruction.
Our way of living life is destroying the Earth we live on.
