    1. What if every country in the world chose to be like Costa Rica in prioritizing human well-being, using its wealth for the well-being of its citizens? Well then, we get to nearly 73, very close to the Global Goals.

      In Costa Rico , they seem to be placing the money back into its own people/country , providing better education which in turn leads to people attaining better jobs and having financial growth. thus making it easier for the people of Costa Rico to attain social progress. In Costa Rica, they are aiming to enhance the people of the country more so than profiting off the people of its country .

    2. does everyone have the basic needs of survival: food, water, shelter, safety?

      According to maslow's hierarchy, our psychological needs such as food , water, and shelter must be met before we are able to advance to other needs needed for survival. No matter our race, gender, cultural or financial status we all require these simple yet hard to acquire for some needs to be met to become productive members of society.

    3. But the pessimists and doomsayers who say that the world can’t get better are simply wrong.

      The people that see the worst and predict disaster within the world, need to look at things from a more optimistic viewpoint. The world is slowly trying to change, it will not come in a drastic increase overnight, but yet at a slow increase starting in one area at a time. We as a society need to believe in the small goals , this will have us come together and achieve much larger goals.

    1. Take responsibility for the effects of your words and actions on others, even when your intentions were not to cause them harm

      As humans we often speak first and think after, causing tension among individuals. We should step back and take accountability for our actions even when they were not meant to cause intentional harm to other.

    2. Act toward and write to others as you would want them to do for you if the roles were reversed

      While reading this the first thought that came to my head was the quote "Do unto others as you would want others to do onto you." Treat people how you would want to be treated if it were you.

    3. dethrone ourselves from the center of our world and put another there,

      Showing compassion helps us as humans to be less selfless and put others needs before our own. It Is never easy to attempt to put someone's needs before our own, I believe this is a learned skill similar to learning how to ride a bike.
