    1. smene, my sister. I did it alone. No one helped me. Not even Haemon, my brave one, whom I will not wed.

The way that this is written is like a mix between past, present, and future. It feels like Antigona is dead because she is speaking in past tense, also because we know that she died. But it's a conversation in present time speaking about the future. It's very interesting and intriguing to see.

    2. The play opened with Antigona hanged on one of the bars of this cage

It's very shocking opening to see how Antigona is hanged on the bars of this cage. I feel like this brings the attention of the audience to Antigona and would make the audience to want to know more because they would start to wonder how did she get there? Why is she there? Are more people going to get hanged? Why is she being hanged? To set an example? I feel like what it does is that it really makes the audience wonder and this keeps them interested to want to continue to know how the story would end.

The contrast between young Alison and older Alison is really beautiful. it really shows Alison's turmoil, I also feel like its hinting that there probably isn't a resolution. Explaining why Alison is looking back to see what went wrong because that the only way she can do It if she wants to find out what happened.

    2. ou know, shortly after we were married we took a drive from Germany where we were living to Paris. He wanted me to meet an Army buddy of his. We had a beautiful drive. And then, just outside of Paris, he just went crazy. Just started screaming at me. Why couldn't I read a simple fucking map? I was a stupid, worthless bitch. I was dumbfounded. I was terrified- it came out of nowhere as far as I knew. Of course, I learned later that this man had been your father's lover

Bruce is so pent up on creating a cover for his life that he explodes when something doesn't go his way. Its like he gets upset that Helen couldn't do what his lover could and he blames it on her in a way .

    3. I- give him the slip but

I like how they are showing what Chaos feels like. I wonder if this is sort of like Grotowski where the viewer feels uncomfortable because of how chaotic the song feels.

    4. hrissakesl I know him. He was my student a few years back. Okay? What, do you thin

I feel like this is when the audience will start to become suspicious about the nature of what he is hiding because the way he reacted to Helen's questions indicates that he is hiding something. This is established earlier, but what makes this line suspicious is his outburst. As a reader I can't help but wonder the nature of what he is hiding and it makes me want to know more.

    5. Small Alison closes her journal and leaves. What was that about, Dad? Why did you call me back there? Is that the way your father showed you your first dead body? Was it some Bechdel rite of passage? Or, am I reading too much into this? Maybe you just needed the scissors. SHIFT to a door marked· "GAY UNION."

I feel like this is a mix between Alison reacting to what she wrote as a child and what she felt in the moment. It seems like a moment that she still feels the same about.

    6. Hewan

There is an emphasis of how much control Bruce holds on his family. Its like they are waking on tip - toes in order to please him, because earlier the script states he might have a breakdown. Everything has to go as Bruce wants and the script continues to state it. I wonder if that is done so that the audience will be motivated to find out why Bruce is the way he is, the same way that Alison wonder's about who Bruce really was. It's like the audience is in the same position of Alison when it comes to figuring out who Bruce is, and we are going on a journey with her.

    7. verything is balanced and serene

"Everything is balanced and Serene, Like Chaos never happens if it's never seen," We see more foreshadowing in the song. Furthermore, the emphasis of how much Bruce wants things shows that he wants everything to be in control, and yet he is already introduced as a mysterious character. Alison wants to know who her dad, but here it shows that he w controlling when it came to the house. But, at the same time Bruce's mysterious nature emerges when it states "like Chaos never happens if it's never seen", insinuating that there is chaos within this family that will be discovered.

    8. I want to know

I remember reading the book and I see little snippets of what's to come as we go along in this musical in the song. "I want to know what's true, dig deep into who and what and why and when, until now gives way to then,"I love this line because it basically spoke the plot of the novel. Alison wants to know the type of person Bruce was, all the while trying to remember how it was like when she was younger and figuring out who she is now. What're more interesting is that this is the first song and what the play will essentially be about is explained to the audience from the very beginning.

    1. . I worry about the world when I think of eternity. Keep busy, Woyzeck, keep busy. That's forever, forever! You can see that, can't you? And then again it's not eternity but just a passing moment, yes, a passing moment, Woyzeck. ~ shiver when I think that the world spins all the way round m one day! But what a waste of time! And where will it all

This line is funny to me, its like an old way of saying "you only live once"!

    2. what reasoning! This creature can count even though it can't use its fingers. Why? It can't just express itself and

I wonder if this is supposed to make the reader question what makes a human, human? And what makes an animal, an animal? How do we separate the terms? Or is there no difference? Maybe this will make us dive into what it means to be human. It's an interesting concept because then I wonder what will the character's do that show their humanity?

    3. Silent, completely silenL As if the world was dea

I feel like this line is supposed to represent what war feels like and it may be the line that summarizes what will be illustrated in the play. Like the effects of war on the soldiers, its environment, and regular people. In war, I imagine noise so loud that feels like you can't hear anything at all. But, when that noise stops your body still feels the affects of that noise, your ears are still trying to adjust to the noise difference, and the silence that comes after somehow feels louder and more impactful when all is done.

    4. At university in Strasbourg

It's interesting to see how detailed this is. Everything that needs to be known about the setting, the date, the characters behavior due to occupation, background, and family are highlighted to show that such details are important when examining a character. Moreover, I feel like something would be lost when reading this play purely as a reader if I skipped this part because maybe it would answer some of my questions that I may have when it comes to a characters choice.

    1. The sky is less grand as it shuts down over less worth in the population.

RWE is stating that when a person thinks superficially the world and your ideas are small. If you don't look with an open mind you close the door to many other opportunities.

    2. To speak truly, few adult persons can see nature.

RWE uses nature as a form of free thought. They relate nature to freedom, and anyone who doesn't have the characteristic of a free person is superficial. RWE takes a spiritual approach in how he views life.
