One of the main themes I’d like to discuss in my paper is the impact on body image issues and disorders. While other aspects of women’s lives are impacted by the idealization produced in dolls and films, body esteem and dissatisfaction is the most impacted part of a woman’s life. This article discusses everything about the problems of a woman’s body as a result of the Barbie doll.
Good keyterms would be self-image and eating disorder

I’d like to use this source to discuss how the Barbie doll impacts different aspects of women’s life, and how it influences the viewpoint of the world and of themselves.

'make us aware of thatsilence larger than life'
As in "Mannequin", the silence of the dolls were deafening just like the forced silence of the models. Real but not quite.
the model's relationship to reality is always ques-tionable,
This relates to "Mannequin" in that Anna judges the other women harshly, disgusted by their perceived physical flaws. She herself is insecure because they only picked her for her legs. Anna is extremely critical of everyone, including herself regarding appearances.
At six o’clock Anna was out in the rue de la Paix; her fatigue forgotten,
Her pain as a mannequin was forgotten once she knew of the praise, leading her into the same vicious cycle. Similar to an eating disorder, after the exhaustion and pain of hunger, that whisper of good job in the back of your head is enough to make you come back for more no matter the pain.
Eliane was frankly ugly and it did not matter
Is she truly ugly? Or is Anna projecting her own insecurities outward?
human flowers
Women treated as if they are for decoration, silent and only there for display. Can you experience uncanny within yourself when you conform to being a mannequin?
Coldly critical glances were bestowed upon Anna’s reflection in the glass
How does this affect Anna's mental health?
in an extraordinary and distinctive atmosphere of slimness and beauty
Slimness is equated with beauty, similar to today.
It was to her legs that she owed this dazzling, this incredible opportunity.
Only her legs mattered, the rest completely forgotten. Why does society limit us to our body parts?
She was fragile, like a delicate child, her arms pathetically thin.
The beauty standard - women kept weak and fragile, forced to starve themselves until they're emaciated.
