    1. Yes, I’m learning new ideas within those tools, but is itenough?

I totally share your concerns here, especially since we've been being critical about a lot of tools in class. I find myself to be more hesitated when deciding what tool to use--this a a good thing in a way, but I couldn't help thinking about whether a near-exhaustive search would help me to decide on the optimal tool. Or if I should spend the time that I compare the wide range of tools instead on actually implementing my project with a more popular/familiar tool? It is really hard to tell when it is enough...

    2. it is intimidating.

I could imagine how intimidating it might be to share your own experience to the public in a project like this. And you've done a wonderful job! Just to make this process a bit easier for you, my experience is that sometimes it's helpful to think of it separately as "the part I want to share" and "the part I believe that will be helpful to my audience". For the first part, don't pressure yourself too much on thoughts and experiences that you are uncomfortable to share. Omissions value as much as the inclusions to readers in one's account of his or her personal experience especially, as Shelbi mentioned, "deeply personal, physical, embodied experiences" like pilgrimages. For the second part, it will bring an objective sense and allow you to categorize your experience.

    1. video

I think to insert a video here is really a good idea for a DH project! It allows us to talk to the audience directly and go through the project with them. As a reader I feel like this is more helpful than the lengthy paragraphs I wrote in my own project.

I really like your five-Keiths system and I get what you are trying to convey. But I agree with Prof. Langmead on the point that the percentage is somewhat confusing as they do not add up to 100%. The visualization makes more sense though!

For the visualization (not sure what is the correct terminology for this kind of graph, radar graph perhaps?), I wonder if it would be clearer to put the five Keiths as labels on the outermost circle and use color code to demonstrate different places. That way each closed graph will also have substantive meaning of "an experience at a place". Just a thought! :)

    1. The captaset is so vast,

I totally understand that the size of your captaset is already very large. But I am wondering if you are looking to establish some arguments or results, is it possible to do a comparative study with other contemporary novels? Just a thought~

    2. I’m realizing that it focuses on microlevel linguistic features (like word frequencies) that map directly over macrolevel phenomena (like novel genres or publication dates).

This is very interesting! I am curious about in what context are you situating these maps or relationships. A historical one? A cultural specific one? or something else?
