Pop!_OS has remained Snap-free so far. Ubuntu 21.10 will switch to the Snap version of Firefox. Firefox is the default browser of Pop!_OS. By 22.04 System76 will probably have to maintain the Firefox deb themselves.As Canonical switches more and more debs to Snaps, System76 will have to maintain more packages on their own and the Ubuntu base becomes more and more useless to them.So ultimately, System76 will either have to go full Snap with Pop!_OS (which will cause many, including myself, to abandon it) or abandon the Ubuntu base.

I find Alt + right-click + drag to be the most convenient way to do this.

Not to mention 80% of our sales are laptops and desktops running, you guessed it, a Linux desktop. So, unlike Red Hat and Canonical, we live or die based on how good that experience is.

Pop!_OS has its own official PPA which is enabled by default.

Pop!_Os makes some improvements on Ubuntu especially for gaming and coding. There are newer drivers and some coding related things are easier to setup.

Couldn't agree more, the whole fuss about POP OS is overrated. I think it started because of a video on Linus tech tips, which listed Pop OS as one of the best solutions for Linux gaming. But I think that running Ubuntu + some Linux knowledge to install the proprietary driver is a better solution imo.

if PopOS! really wants to be what Ubuntu was 10 years ago they need to step up and make dual booting easier.

Instead of resizing Windows efi partition, I created a new one for pop os as well. So now my system has two different efi partitions. No chance of any messing up.

I tried it but the tool wouldn't let me resize the EFI partition

I did the same thing. Another big advantage with Pop! is that it comes ready to deal with modern graphics cards. I coulg get my card working on Ubuntu sometimes, but it had to be done just so, and the phase of the moon needed to be right, or else you had to start the whole process over again. Canonical is free to do whatever they want I guess, but their recent shifts in priorities are a little weird to me.

It is pretty much what Ubuntu 20.04 could have been, but isn't.

Pop_os does not have many differences from ubuntu, it mostly theme + some tweaks. If you wanna try pop_os you can migrate, this way of migration just install pop_os tweaks over ubuntu. But, actually, I don't think you will fall in love with pop_os if you don't like ubuntu...
