    1. Brain cells lose some functioning but new neurons can also be produced

      This concept is very interesting to me because it opens the door to a lot of research developing about neuroplasticity. This topic has so many facets not just biologically with aging but the idea that it is never too late to cognitively rewire the brain in response to physical trauma/emotional trauma, etc. A source I found in research that was interesting to me was an article published by the National Institute on Aging.
