I think this is interesting to take a deep consideration. I never thought "information" would have such a diverse meaning, but when I think it deeply, it is so true. Information is not just communication and data, though it is mostly used to do that. Information could also be a piece of notice that a job offer in certain company is suitable for you, a new innovation of technology just be widely used, also a solution of a math problem that you don't know for a long time. The hierarchy of information clearly divide it into different levels which could let people understand easily.
