    1. Homeostasis

The concept of homeostasis is an important concept in biology.

Here's a video that illustrates the concept of homeostasis and negative feedback -

    2. differentiation

Differentiation is the process that occurs when the cells of an embryo begin taking on specific characteristics. Let’s back up and try to explain this.

At fertilization, a sperm unites with an egg (ovum) to become a single cell called a zygote. When 24 hours that cell will devide to become two cells, then two cells divide to become four, etc. In the early stages of embryological development, all of the cells of the embryo look alike. They are unspecialized. But at some point during embryological development, cells become specialized. They differentiate, in other words, and some cells become neurons, other cells become skin cells, etc..

    3. Homeostasisis the state of steady internalconditions maintained by living things.

This is a very basic (and probably unclear) definition. This definition really is inadequate; in other words, if someone asks you what homeostasis is, don't define it this way. The concept of homeostasis will be discussed in section 1.5.

    1. Humanphysiologyis the scientific study of the chemistryand physics of the structures of the body and the ways in which they work together to support the functions of life. Muchof the study of physiology centers on the body’s tendency toward homeostasis.

In other words, whereas anatomy involves the study of the parts (structures) of the human body, physiology is the study of how those parts work.

Here's a video that introduces anatomy and physiology - video
