They are shaped by collective habits, regulatory pressure, and a cultural willingness to accept friction in exchange for autonomy. Individual acts of departure remain difficult and often stagnate. Structural change requires coordination beyond personal choice. The question is no longer whether alternatives are possible; they already exist, but whether we are prepared to reorganize our everyday online practices around them.
