    1. Removed the Source Book URL Removed "Pressbooks" as author from chapters

    1. Plus, it gives you the added benefit of using the platform itself as a tool to organize your book.

this does not apply to the participants, because they don't have the necessary permissions. I suggest removing this sentence.

    2. Footnotes imported in a Word document will need to be converted into Pressbooks shortcode by clicking the ‘Convert MS Word Footnotes’ button.

added this after testing that it actually works

    3. &

Ampersands are not recommended for accessibility reasons. Screen readers read & as "ampersand".

    1. Note that in EPUB and PDF exports, H5P activities will be replaced by placeholder text which includes a link to the activity in the webbook:

this might be revised in the next couple of weeks when the export routine is done and H5P activities can be shown in exports. we could just leave it out here.

    1. Add Images and Other Media

I would replace this with the currently missing chapter from the User Guide on how to add an image to a chapter. (depending on their permissions, they won't see all the media in the media library.) this does not show them how to add media to a chapter.

it would be a great opportunity to draft that chapter (which would be added to the guide as well).

    1. adding the videos to the chapters would make it easier for people to find them (they won't have to browse through a playlist)

    2. Sign in to Pressbooks

I would use the chapter title but change the CSS so it is not all caps.

    3. 1

      I would remove numbering

    4. Pressbooks Enterprise If you want to use Pressbooks through your institution’s network, you can create or edit resources created in Pressbooks by navigating to the URL in your invitation email and entering your credentials. Pressbooks Self-Publisher If you want to use Pressbooks via our Self-Publisher site to create your own resources, navigate to https://pressbooks.pub/auth/ and enter your credentials or sign up for a new account.

    1. 📕 For more information on other ways to import your text into Pressbooks, check out our guide chapter on bringing your content into Pressbooks. Previous/next navigation Previous: Sign in to Pressbooks Next: Bring Your Content into Pressbooks Back to top

this points to a different chapter in this book. so using the same icon for internal and external links here could be confusing.

    2. 📕 Learn more in our chapters on adding Parts and adding Chapters to your book.

this points to the User Guide, I would refer to that

    3. Add and Organize Content

I would adapt this chapter for the specific context of the group. But first I wonder, what user roles will they have? Will they all be editors (it means they can add, publish and delete chapters), or authors (they can only edit, publish or delete their own chapter), or editors (they can only edit their own chapter, but not publish or delete it). What the organize page looks like and what they can do will depend on that.

    1. Accessibility of Web, PDF and EPUB Versions

      remove this section

    2. Recommended Resources

      maybe remove this section?

    1. View All H5P Activities in Your Book

we might not need this entire chapter. maybe we could remove the "import" and the "view" sections and just refer to the user guide for more information. I think in this case creating H5P activities and adding them to the chapter are key.

    1. Import from a Word Document

the Word importer is very rudimentary, I'm always concerned that it is presented as a viable solution when in fact it's very limited (lists don't import, no alt text for images, footnotes need to be formatted with shortcodes)

    2. on this page

add direct link to chapter section https://guide.pressbooks.com/chapter/bring-your-content-into-pressbooks/#chapter-146-section-3

      "in our User Guide section"

    3. (italic, bold, lists, etc)

adjust here (and in the guide): remove lists, but add headings

    4. Create empty Parts and Chapters in Pressbooks which reflect the desired structure of your finished manuscript.

will they have their chapter already created or will they create their own? I would then give instructions based on that

    5. Copy and Paste from Another Source

The section should be something like: Bring Content Written Elsewhere into Pressbooks

Then there should be two subsections (copy paste, import)

    6. Book

      Chapters? Content?

    1. Create and Display Contributors

eventually move right after Book Information

    2. 9. Add Book Information

change order so it's after "Create Your Book"

    3. Steps for Creating Your Own Book

Make Your Own Book (as to distinguish from the chapter title)

    4. Steps for Adding to an Existing Book

      Contribute to an Existing Book

    1. Set the Language for a Chapter or a Text Passage

this should be added to the accessibility chapter

    1. It should look something like this:

What would be the most accessible way to do this? add an actual H5P activity? embed an iframe?

    2. Cannot find H5P content with id: 1..

need to enter this in a way so it's not read as an actual shortcode. any idea on how to do this?

    3. H5P

I removed the video section because the video was very outdated. Maybe we can add one of Steel's videos instead?

    4. In this Chapter

should we add updating H5P libraries to this chapter as well?

    5. ⚠️ If you import H5P activities from H5P.com into Pressbooks, sometimes the H5P libraries are not pulled in automatically. For some activity types it is necessary to install the libraries first by creating a new activity of that type.

Added this based on the task description.

    6. create formative assessments that can be used inside a Learning Management System

      Link to Result part

    7. The H5P activities list will indicate the total number of H5P activities created in a given book, displaying them in groups of 20 with pagination controls at the bottom of the page. Acitivites are listed by their shortcode ID number (in order of creation) and will be hidden by default. You can choose to expand all activities at once by clicking the Expand All button at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can click the Show Activity button to display a specific H5P activity.

I feel this bit is not necessary.

I would actually prefer to refer to the Directory where they can pick any book. That way we don't need to ensure that this book continues to exist.

    1. Anyone interested in using a particular WordPress plugin with our hosted offering of Pressbooks is welcome to submit a plugin request. All requested plugins undergo a review process and are evaluated with reference to our plugins policy.

    1. sis account.

The screenshot below is a good illustration, but not accessible. What should the alt text be? Could it include a link to an actual example?

    1. Activate the H5P plugin

once H5P chapter is reviewed, add link to the (not yet existing) section "Active the H5P plugin"

    2. H5P Activities
    3. H5P's mathematics library

according to the H5P release overview, the latest version would be https://h5p.org/sites/default/files/h5p-math-display-1.0.33.h5p - should we test it before linking to it?

    4. recommended methods for rendering LaTeX expressions:

should mention that this happens in the visual editor

    5. WP QuickLaTeX would render something which looks like this:

if we want to keep the content accessible, we can't just post a screenshot, but would have to show a live version of this. this would mean either activating WP QuickLaTeX for the guide (I don't think it would interfere with MathJax as there are no MathJax examples), or actually pointing to an external link.

    6. If you do not see this option, please contact your network manager.

what "option" does this refer to? the plugins menu item? or WP QuickLaTeX in the list? or the Activate link? I would suggest removing this sentence, as it is the standard to do when something doesn't work like it should. or am I missing something?

    1. View and Restore Previous Revisions Pressbooks saves the last 10 revisions of any changes you’ve made for each of the three separate stylesheets. You can access these revisions on the Custom Styles page below the save button. To view or restore a previous version of one of your stylesheets: Click the date stamp for the revision you’d like to view to open the Compare Revisions interface for a particular stylesheet Find the revision you’d like to restore from and click the ‘Restore This Revision‘ button

This could be a separate chapter (or included in the Editor chapter)

    1. description

We should mention that the description can't serve as the accessible description for an image. That has to be linked to separately.

    1. Video: I would replace it with a video that focuses on table accessibility. The current video shows how to create a table and then add content and then shows how to designate a row as the header row; this is not sufficient for accessibility. For accessibility reasons it is also necessary to go to Table cell properties and choose Cell type: Header cell and **Scope: Column" (or row).

    2. Add or Delete Tables Using the Visual Editor

separate the two tasks. ("using the visual editor" is not necessary in the title)

structure: 1. Add a table 2. Change Table Appearance * Apply preset styles * Adjust Table Width and height * Change Border Weight * Add Table Caption 3. Make Your Table More Accessible 4. Add or remove table rows or columns 5. Delete a table 6. Create Interactive Tables with TablePress

    3. All tables default to the Standard class.

replace screenshot below with actual tables (accessibility)

    1. Media

add information on what file types? this information should be available somewhere, but maybe in the network manager guide?

    2. Edit Image.

The xyz window opens up. add screen shot of that window (without clicking any of the options first)

    3. Perform one or more of the following edit actions: Crop, Scale, Image Rotation

I am not sure how much detail we want to give here. Not sure how frequently this feature is being used. If we want to give more info, we could list the steps for each edit action. They differ a lot and have some slightly tricky steps. Especially the last step differs (sometimes it's enough to click Apply, sometimes it's necessary to click Save Edits

    4. ⚠️ Editing an image may break how the image appears where you had already inserted it before.

We are not sure in what cases already inserted images are affected.

    1. was defined for PDF exports

I don't really understand what this means and therefore why it is relevant to users.

    1. Status & Visibility

could add a link here to the section in "Create and Manage Chapters" that refers to the "Status & Visibility" panel

    2. Code

this adds code tags which could prevent content from being displayed for some Safari users (this is the case when the tags are wrapped around H5P activities)

    3. Options

      replaced screenshot

    4. options

      redid the screenshot (without text)

    5. toolbar

took out the paragraph with they keyboard shortcuts. they don't work on Mac.

    1. View, Compare, and Restore Revisions

should this be part of this chapter or rather the "Edit" part? as it's part of the Satus & Visiblity panel, maybe leave it in this chapter, but refer to it in the "Edit Content with Visual and Text Editor" chapter?

    2. changed title to distinguish better from "Edit" part and chapters

    3. Review Chapter Settings

adjusted title - anything related to using the editor should be in the chapter https://university.pressbooks.pub/guidetestedits/chapter/edit-content-with-the-visual-text-editors/ or other chapters in that part

    4. Using the Visual and Text Editors

There is an entire chapter on this: https://university.pressbooks.pub/guidetestedits/chapter/edit-content-with-the-visual-text-editors/ I would suggest removing this section.
