    1. If we are underestimating, then does that mean our carbon budget figures are too high and we don't have 5 years of carbon budget remaining at the BAU rate, but significantly less?

for - climate crisis - models are underestimating as much as 4x - question - does our current remaining carbon budget of 5 years BAU need to be reduced?

    1. we're following a path that would take us to 2.7 degrees Celsius even if all the nationally determined contributions are implemented 00:07:39 by the end of this century let me just make one point very clear 2.7 degrees Celsius is without any doubt a disaster it's a point we haven't seen for the 00:07:52 past five million years there's no evidence that we can support Humanity as we know it on a 2.7 degrees Celsius planet so we really need to transition and 1.5 00:08:04 is the scientific limit that we now need to hold on to

    1. So the four social groups, they're all paradigms. Like when you go meet with like-minded people, so there's four groups. The first group is the group I call the old school

!- definition : first group - old school - still believe in and invested in the system which brought us to the polycrisis - the crisis is short term and we will solve it using the same approach - BAU dismissive of any major existential problem, no doom mongering and are stubbornly adherent to what has worked in the past - at worst, climate denialism and at best, green growth - currently 66% to 75% of all people

    1. Jamstack

The legacy version of the Run for Water site designed by Stephen Bau. Featured on Behance.

This version is built with Jamstack, using Harp and DatoCMS.

A similar approach could be used for the Co-Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth.

      A Modest Proposal

Since the Buckminster Fuller Institute is using Airtable, it would be possible to follow the CSS-Tricks article on Going Jamstack with React, Serverless, and Airtable.

    1. Website by Stephen Bau

I used a UIkit theme (Trek) for the redesign of the Run for Water site. I transitioned away from Jamstack, because the organization is centred around volunteers, and it was important to empower them to easily make changes to the marketing front end of their organization.

The WordPress theme has a beautiful interface for managing content. However, it goes against the philosophy of COPE, recommended by Karen McGrane in her presentations on Content in a Zombie Apocalypse.

    1. Curiouser and curiouser. The Matrix 4 movie was part of my trip down the rabbit hole with my father as he was exploring Lewis Carroll’s experiences with migraine headaches.

    2. My father was talking about how Lewis Carroll’s concrete poetry was related to his experience of suffering from migraine headaches.

    1. My father was sharing a book by Brené Brown, Dare to Lead. I shared this website I had created while I was an instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley.

I pointed him to the TED talk by Brené Brown on The Power of Vulnerability.

    1. Lewis Carroll's migraine experiences

When my father was showing me an Economist article with the title Down the rabbit hole, he was making a connection between Lewis Carroll and migraine headaches, which was a specific focus of research for my father.

    1. My father has been exploring brain chemistry and neural connections since the 70s in his medical practice as a paediatrician. His children have been his experimental laboratory. A conversation with my father is an adventure down the rabbit hole.

This is what he was sharing with me this past weekend. I must have learned my love of books and magazines from my father.

My father’s interest in Lewis Carroll is related to migraine headaches, which is what my father was treating in adult patients, as he was exploration a correlation between diet and brain chemistry.

    1. My father purchased this book, which connects wisdom to the story of Winnie the Pooh. The volume is beautifully illustrated by Mike Wall.
