    1. For decades, Sanders has had the luxury of railing about the need for big changes without ever having the power, or responsibility, to achieve them. American socialists are to the left what libertarians are to the right, gadflies and Jiminy Crickets trying to play the role of conscience for the two dominant parties.

And which of the ludicrous slew of now former candidates HAS had the "luxury" of "railing about" (whatever that is) "or responsibility, to achieve them." ?? Does Biden even count? What VP has ever been more than the White House version of a whip.

    1. The idea that Bernie is some kind of grouchy ogre is an old and ugly snipe. Nobody ever spends time talking about his smiles or immediate concern for people's physical safety or intensely deep sense of empathy for the blue collar working populace. He's not our friend. He won't call to wish us a happy birthday. He won't make us chuckle with a well-timed joke.

      That's not his job.

His job is to, hopefully, become president and start working to change America into the land our Constitution promised. It's nowhere near impossible, but it won't be easy wresting control from the corporate establishment (AKA; The DNC). They are engineering the nomination process as we speak to keep Bernie from taking the nomination.

    1. Heading into the convention, Sanders has 1,894 delegates to Clinton’s 2,807 when including superdelegates, or party officials who can support the candidate of their choice. It takes 2,383 to win, a threshold Clinton crossed in early June to become the presumptive nominee.

I have been told this count is wrong.

    2. Clinton crossed in early June to become the presumptive nominee.

How many delegates were sworn to her before the primaries?

    3. Horrible pic of Sanders... But very exciting news!

    4. The presidential candidate won’t let the revolution bern out.

    1. Sanders Is Right About Busting Up the Big Banks By:  Robert Reich

"Oh, and yes, the episode also showed that making the breakup of big banks the be-all and end-all of reform misses the point."

    1. Sanders: What I foresee is a stronger national economy. And, in fact, a stronger economy in New York State, as well. What I foresee is a financial system which actually makes affordable loans to small and medium-size businesses. Does not live as an island onto themselves concerned about their own profits. And, in fact, creating incredibly complicated financial tools, which have led us into the worst economic recession in the modern history of the United States.

How does the economy get stronger if more people lose their jobs after this breakup? Has he studied the Bell/Baby Bells divestiture?

    1. According to the entrance poll in Nevada, Clinton won black voters 76 percent to 22 percent. To put that in context, Clinton’s margin is only slightly smaller than Barack Obama’s 83 percent to 14 percent win with black voters in the 2008 Nevada caucuses.

    1. "I want to invest a trillion dollars in rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure. I do want to do that because I think that will create up to 13 million jobs," Sanders said.

Not just cuts, but spending too.

    1. doubt that Sanders sees racism as a serious issue or recognizes the existence of white privilege.

Then why is he dismissive of #blacklivesmatter?

    2. I’m a progressive who mostly focuses on the working and middle class.”
