    1. Approachable consumer experience. If you’ve ever tried to make a dApp transaction, you know how painful the process is. You need to set up an account to purchase coins, make the purchase, create a MetaMask account, send the coins to MetaMask, and, finally, verify the transaction. This is too much friction for the mainstream user.

This is so true. Still looking for an application that can benefit from this concept.

    1. “We know that poverty is a major driver of ill-health. We also know that poor people trust doctors. It’s a free service. Many other services they won’t access because they worry about the cost,” said Prosper Canada CEO Liz Mulholland.

If only this was an issue in the USA, where going to a doctor is not a free service for the patient, in most cases. The same level of trust is not there; this is unacceptable/

    1. Their path to that goal just looks—well, sounds—a bit different. It’s less a reinvention of the wheel, more a technological advancement. “The successful long-form print piece, the successful television documentary, the successful podcast will all be built around storytelling and narratives of people who are affected by what’s being investigated,” says Stephen Smith, executive editor and host of APM Reports.

The medium will change, the basics of journalism and storytelling have not. Now all we need is CNN to do more storytelling and use AJ+ for some source material.

    1. Notable for its absence is the patient’s home. Medicare does not reimburse for telehealth or telemedicine services provided to a patient at home, hindering many mobile health and remote monitoring programs.

This is truly unacceptable, and as a friend puts it, defeating the purpose.

    1. The Ethereum Foundation also notes another issue – the impediment to legitimate use; the benefits to media owners pale in comparison to the detrimental effect the DRM would have on users. According to the Foundation, the DRM will hinder commenting and modification of videos, whether for artistic purposes or to make them accessible to disabled individuals. "All of these uses, normally held in high regard in the W3C Recommendation process, are blocked by DRM.

Anything that would get in the way of #a11y access is a problem to me.

    1. However, we are willing to work with you on what's really bothering you if you stop behaving like Subhuman sacks of dog shit. Let's fight the influence of big business and Electoral Corruption together. Let's get Universal Basic Income done so not just you, but every American is always secure. Let's end the pointless wars. Let's revitalize and stimulate our inner cities

Voters have been known throughout history, most recently in 2016, to vote against their own interests for reasons that are, frankly, stupid.

    1. 6.2 Extension IDs Each extension has an extension ID that follows the browserext:// protocol. For example browserext://MyExtension_c1wakc4j0nefm/options.html browserext://dfcijpibodeoenkablikbkiobbdnkfki/options.html The algorithms that generate these IDs are different for each browser. To access these resources, do not hardcode the ID generated by a particular browser. Instead, use the runtime.getURL() method to convert a relative file name or path to the absolute name or path, which includes the extension ID.

Vivaldi, as you know, I love your browser and use it primary and multiple times a day, despite it's quirks deviating from Chrome.

Having said this, can we eliminate the generated file names for extensions, screenshots, and notes?

    1. At the core of human rights are the ideals and goals of the “four freedoms” articulated by US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt—freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from fear, and freedom from want—and also the primary goal of self-determination. To achieve these conditions, it is also understood that while all rights are “interrelated, interdependent and indivisible,” the absolute basics of life (e.g., water, food, clothing, and shelter) must first be met.

Canada gets it. The US does not. This must change and quickly.

    1. Haberman is in Trump’s head so deep she could be his psychiatrist, and she has had extraordinary access to the president and the administration. She is a regular commentator on TV about life “inside the castle.”

This is absolutely incredible and profound. As an old school wannabee journalist, I applaud these efforts. If only the Charlotte Observer would lower their prices to about $5 a month for digital, I would subscribe, even on my income.

    1. What about a limit of say 20% from walk around to contest weight allowed? Example: Joanna Champion fights at 115, her walk around weight can be no more than 138 {23 extra lbs. or 20%} within a 30 or 60 day period prior to the fight.

    1. During these meetings, Mr. Smith observed that millions of Americans, including millions of students, largely in rural communities, lack broadband internet access, which is a critical component of enabling success in today’s digital society. Microsoft’s research and community deployments1have shown that white spaces technology is a very effective toolfor expanding existing broadband networks into unserved or underserved communities. This is because white spaces technologies use a frequency band that permits network operators to extend wireless broadband signals significantly farther than other bands, while requiringless infrastructureand increasingaffordability. As a result, with white spacestechnologies, providers can expand their networks to serve communities where existing technologies are economically impractical to deploy.

This technology has been proven on other continents, and would otherwise go unused.

    1. Characteristics of a full basic income9.In its comprehensive and ideal form, a basic income is explicitly designed to challenge most of the key assumptions underpinning existing social security systems. Rather than a system where there are partial payments, basic income guarantees a floor; instead of being episodic, payments are regular; rather than being needs-based, they arepaid as a flat rate to all; they come in cash, rather than as messy in-kind support; they accrue to every individual, rather than only to needy households; rather than requiring that various conditions be met, they are unconditional; rather than excludingthe well off, they are universal; and instead of being based on lifetime contributions, they are funded primarily from taxation. And simplicity of design promises minimal bureaucracy and low administrative costs.

This is from a group that has thought this concept through, something US politicians do not seem to be capable of.

    1.  “Our ‘secret sauce’ is storytelling. Ninety-nine percent of video companies are started by video producers and animators. Splainers, on the other hand, was started by writers and journalists. If the story isn’t compelling, no amount of flashy graphics will save your video.”

This is the essence of why journalism and writing are important, even for technical people.

    1. Today, it would be hard to imagine the world without Wikipedia or Linux, and, yet, society has not recognized those as economic contributions.

As a person who loves Microsoft, but uses open-source software including the ones mentioned, the ability to be rewarded for doing the right thing is an universal appeal.
