I've seen the same issue. The links in emails opened in outlook seem to be crawled immediately by the 'BingPreview' bot.

Especially users working with Microsoft Office 365 and therefore Outlook noticed very often that login is not possible. Upon closer analysis, it was found that the MS/Bing crawlers are particularly persistent and repeatedly call the reset links, regardless of server configuration or the like. For this reason, a text field was implemented in the backend via the Drupal State API, in which selected user agents (always one per line) can be entered. These are checked by 'Shy One Time', in case of a hit a redirect to the LogIn form with a 302 status code occurs, the reset link is not invalidated.

Another suggestion some senders are trying is to set up a “stealth” link, that human readers won’t see or click on but that parsing software might. Clicks on that link are a sign that the click was not done by the recipient.
-
This behaviour may affect one-click unsubscribe links. If clicking the link in an email automatically processes the unsubscribe, then Barracuda may unsubscribe users without their knowledge.
-
This behaviour may affect opt-in confirmation links.

I’ve implemented a form on the landings page that auto-submits (on DOMContentLoaded) and posts the token to the next page. Passwordless login is now working for my client despite their mail scanner.
-
In June 2021 I can confirm Microsoft seem to be running a product that completes client side activities, like automatically submitting a form. I guess they are running a headless browser to do the scanning.
That's unfortunate. Can't use auto-submit form to protect from such behavior then.

Best practices will not give these students voices. Best practices will not help them build community. Best practices will not align them with their own agency. You have to do that.
This makes me wonder how one might take a community chat space like the IndieWeb chat and replicate the experience for a classroom or for an entire university? It would require a huge amount of tummeling?

You may have noticed your emails looking a little cramped in Hotmail and Outlook.com recently. The culprit? Discontinuation of support for the margin property in these email clients. Rather than honoring your carefully spaced paragraphs and images, Hotmail and Outlook.com are now completely stripping margin from paragraph tags, leaving default values (0 for the top, right and left; 1.35em for the bottom, to be exact) in their place.

Yeah, as many developers will tell you, designing/coding for email is an incredibly hit-or-miss proposition...this is simply one more thing that may work in some email clients. The only consistent behavior in HTML/CSS emails is that nothing is consistent. :-)

I'm coding an email for a project and man! it's such a pain. Every other client has it's own implementation and supported rules. Some don't allow even simple properties like background-image while some support most advanced rules like media queries
-
That's something that has been bugging me too. I mean, it's fine if not everything is supported, but if everyone could agree on what is or should be supported then that would make a huge difference. But until then, it's going to be a struggle.
-
I've worked with people at companies where this was their only responsibility. Setting up emails for clients, making sure they pass a battery of tests and look great in all browsers and clients. It's an incredible PITA and it's not a set it and forget it thing. Clients can change month to month; spam filters change, etc...

The same emoji will not look the same across every device. Each operating system has its own design language. For example, take a look at how the smiley face renders across various platforms:<img src="https://www.smartrmail.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/image15.png" alt="smiley face across different mobile devices" class="wp-image-5429"/>The differences are subtle, but for some emojis the differences are much more pronounced. The t-shirt for instance completely changes color.<img src="https://www.smartrmail.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/image6.png" alt="how t-shirt renders across different mobile devices" class="wp-image-5430"/>So one subject line you definitely don’t want to send your email with is “Flash Sale on Blue T-Shirts ”

Yup, which was released six years ago, is obviously a more popular choice at this time. Zod is smaller in size, probably because it doesn’t have as many APIs as Yup, but it’s sure to grow as more features are developed.

Because it's easier for Indiana Jones to recover the Sankara Stones than for someone with an idea for an App to find a decent App developer. And because we wanted to finally have a place to send friends and clients who constantly ask for our help in finding developers. Yeah, we know there are more than 140,000 iPhone applications out there already, so not everyone is struggling to find a developer. But believe us, the demand outweights the supply. Hence, this site.
