A: The Calibre dedrm plugin only removes the Readium 1.0 drm. As for Readium 2.5, it employs the tougher drm, it cannot be handled with Calibre drdrm plugin.
Calibre DeDRM plugin can only work w Readium 1 lcpl, current version 2.5 needs diff path.

The DeDRM plugin i
Calibre DeDRM plugin, but an older version needed to remove Lcpl drm, you do need the passphrase still. For reading in Calibre no need to de-drm but needed if you want to move it to a device that does not support lcp.
you can download the .lcpl within the Calibre directly.
Calibre works directly with .lcpl LCP drm

Support for jumping to and displaying paper edition page numbers [7.17] If an e-book contains embedded information about the pages from the paper edition of the book, the calibre E-book viewer can now jump to a page number via the Go to button in the viewer controls.
Calibre, if it can detect it, can use paper edition page numbers. It's #openvraag how I want to deal with location numbers in ebooks as ref.
[8.11.1] Supports hundreds of AI models via Providers such as Google, OpenRouter, GitHub and locally running models via Ollama.
Calibre supported Ollama since 8.11, for Ask AI tab in dictionary panel.
New features Allow asking AI questions about any book in your calibre library. Right click the "View" button and choose "Discuss selected book(s) with AI" AI: Allow asking AI what book to read next by right clicking on a book and using the "Similar books" menu AI: Add a new backend for "LM Studio" which allows running various AI models locally
AI features in Calibre. discuss book w C, book suggestions, and LMStudio back-end. I set up Calibre w the LM Studio back-end, so things remain loca.
A posting elsewhere suggested it woud also suggest better metadata through AI. But that article seems generated itself, so disregarded.
bc of Calibre adding AI, this is an AI-less fork, calibre minus a and i, thus clbre.
Calibre has added AI 'support', mostly to suggest new stuff to read and an option to discuss a book. It has an LM Studio back-end, so I can tie it to my local models.
so press O and copy it directly using the file manager. Or turn off the metadata writing plugins for the formats you use in Preferences->Plugins.
Hypothes.is annotation will be lost in this process of editing metadata, so as he says to make sure annotation are kept.

Interesting (now discontinued) reading list product from Levenger that in previous generations may have been covered by a commonplace book but was quickly replaced by digital social products (bookmark applications or things like Goodreads.com or LibraryThing.com).
Presently I keep a lot of this sort of data digitally myself using either/both: Calibre or Zotero.
I may be insane, but somehow text search here makes me wonder that Calibre might actually make an interesting interface for keeping one's notes?
Document management, text search, tagging, reference management capabilities, open source, custom meta data, server potential, etc. What's missing to prevent such an off-label use case?

[GUI Plugin] QuarantineAndScrub: A Calibre Add-on
Con este plugin para Calibre podría por fin limpiar mi bibioteca.
http://boris.libra.re/library/ Made apparently using Calibre.
Step 3: Set up reading storage and a reading environment.
Calibre isn't a bad tool/application for doing this for a variety of document types and managing meta data

Workflow for connecting Obsidian to either Zotero or Calibre for note taking.
https://forum.obsidian.md/t/workflow-reading-ebook-epub-mobi-azw-etc-in-obsidian/17977
This is a clever hack for getting ebooks from Calibre to be readable within Obsidian, potentially for cutting/pasting and taking notes directly.
I think I still prefer my other methods, but this might be fun to play around with since I have so much stored in Calibre.
