The journalist and media personality Piers Morgan had a weaker showing in the United States. Despite his followers on Twitter (8 million) and Instagram (1.8 million), “Wake Up: Why the World Has Gone Nuts” has sold just 5,650 U.S. print copies since it was published a year ago, according to BookScan. (It sold more than 190,000 print copies in the United Kingdom, according to his U.K. publisher.)
Piers Morgan has lost relevancy here in the United States, particularly on the political front. I'm not surprised at these marginal numbers.

He watched an hour-long lecture by Dr. Joy DeGruy on what she called “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome.” He listened to the work of Tim Wise, an activist who speaks on college campuses and with corporations on fighting racism. He watched Morgan Freeman’s National Geographic series, The Story of Us. He watched Noam Chomsky’s documentary on American wealth distribution, Requiem for the American Dream. He watched Ava DuVernay’s examination of incarceration, the Netflix documentary, 13th. “13th turned the light bulb on,” Stills says.
This is lovely to read. Kenny Stills, American-football player, finds his viewing and reading material.
Everybody should see "Requiem for the American Dream", available on Netflix.

audiences want the new work to offer new insights into the characters and new experiences of the fictional world.
A case in point is the spin-off series "Fear the Walking Dead" which looks at the "Walking Dead" universe form a different perspective and has recently had a character crossover (Morgan)- see here for more details: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Morgan_Jones_(Fear_The_Walking_Dead)
The "Walking Dead" franchise began with graphic novels. "Harry Potter" much surely mark one of the most successful transmedia franchises, books, films, computer games, lego characters, costumes, and extended fanclubs (UCC Harry Potter Society uses a sorting hat, and the quasi-gothic architecture of UCC as a backdrop).
