I think my creativity is going to flourish when I get clean. There are so many songs I started and never finished, and I've wasted so much time while I've been using drugs. Even if I was at the typewriter I wasn't doing anything, I was just there. I was more likely to do a line off it than write anything, so I think now my creativity will blossom.

I actually have pretty good feedback to share on this... I bought the remaining inventory from the guy that does these about 3 years back. We initially had a verbal agreement about me taking over the turboplaten business and we discussed the process in detail while loading a truck full of typewriters, but as the day wore on he seemed a little reluctant and when we started getting into inner/outer diameter measurements and specific PVC tubing he kinda clammed up. *For the record, I wasn't put out by it really as I had virtually zero intention of starting a platen business and told him as such- that any I made would likely only be for machines I sold. But it definitely felt weird as he literally gave me his custom built lathe and much of his tubing stock. 🤷🏻♂️ That said, I know how to make these from start to finish. The quality is decent enough, and the ones I got from him and the ones I made myself perform pretty well for the most part. However, I found some machines react poorly to the different material - causing escapement skip. The PVC material is bouncier than natural rubber, and doesn't play well with ALL typewriters without being specifically messed with during construction. His method of heat treatment of the tubing is what's supposed to combat this, but it's almost impossible to gauge the amount of heat needed for various machines specific escapements. All that to say; They're an interesting concept in theory, and given the right equipment could be a compelling alternative for natural rubber. But given what I saw and experienced in the process, I'd have a difficult time justifying paying essentially twice what JJ Short charges for one. Not saying you shouldn't, just sharing my experience.

Altadena homeowners with standing structures weigh returning by [[Susan Valot]]

“In the beginning, it was like, ‘Oh, thank goodness, our house is standing, but this is hard to celebrate because everybody around us lost their house,’” Lambert says. “Then as the time went by, every day you’re realizing there’s more and more unknowns. It’s not as simple as, ‘There was a fire, it’s gone, clean your house, go back.’ It’s so much more complicated.”
This is one of my big worries as well.

what you're doing basically is reconnecting the striatum that's empowerment with the prefrontal cortex you're reconnecting the motivational engine with a bridge of the ship and that's happening in the brain and uh it has to happen in the mind
> for - addiction - recovery - brain model - reconnecting - striatum - motivation to - prefrontal cortex - bridge of the ship
-
that's what professionals and family members and Friends and Lovers and lots of other people can do help them think about where they come from and where they're going to you put those two things together and that's the magic uh formula
> for - addiction - recovery - family support - help addicted person build an affirming, honest and aspiring narrative - where they came from - where they arrived at now - where they are going towards
-
how do we help addicts feel empowered rather than disempowered which is a potent antidote to Ego fatigue to feel empowered I can do it okay and I think that we need to help them own other goals
> for - addiction - recovery - how to help addicts - empower - replace drug use with other goals - help expand - from eternal now to - painful past - uncertain future
-
that's what you have to that's what you have to capture you have to capture that motivation that sense of ownership okay that's really empowerment
> for - addiction - recovery - ownership of other meaningful goals
-
recovery now and talk about how this happens because for each of the people in my book they actually did find a way out of addiction as people generally do
> for - addiction - quote - Recovery - most people find a way out of addiction - Marc Lewis

Given her master key is compromised (and that is the case when she'd like to rotate) nothing stops the compromised to issue and sign a new backup key.
Better: use pre-rotation of KERI.

If you can unlink your address from a locked out account and then link it to a new account and add new 2FA factors to new account, and basically set it up again to be a replacement nearly identical to the original... how is that any different / more secure than just using a "reset account" feature that resets the original account (removes 2FA)?
We're still back to the recurring original problem with account security where the security of your account comes down to the security of your linked e-mail account.

For areas that are not functioning properly, changes have to be made to allow themto recover (e.g., acquire adequate vegetation). A change such as increasing vegeta-tion cover results in changes that improve function. Recovery starts with having theright elements present to dissipate energy, which puts the physical process intoworking order and provides the foundation to sustain the desired condition. Each riparian-wetland area has to be judged against its capability and potential. Thecapability and potential of natural riparian-wetland areas are characterized by theinteraction of three components: 1) hydrology, 2) vegetation, and 3) erosion/deposition (soils).

I find it much simpler to use a partition label with LABEL=.... It is shorter, easier to remember, and also has the advantage that should the partition go bad and need to be replaced you can create a new partition, give it the same label provided the old partition is either removed or at least changed to be unlabelled and fstab will never know the difference.

The conclusion was obvious: The system was rigged for insiders. The economic recovery took years; the recovery of trust never came.
Economic recovery for the masses took ages while the economic recovery for the wealthier was nearly instantanous.
What is the relationship to the recession with the rise of the Tea Party?
Will the pandemic recession do better since there seems to be more focus on the lower classes than the upper? The upper classes (and certainly the billionaires) apparently did incredibly well.

The challenge of recovery is to reestablish ownership of your body and your mind — of your self. This means feeling free to know what you know and to feel what you feel without becoming overwhelmed, enraged, ashamed, or collapsed. For most people this involves (1) finding a way to become calm and focused, (2) learning to maintain that calm in response to images, thoughts, sounds, or physical sensations that remind you of the past, (3) finding a way to be fully alive in the present and engaged with the people around you, (4) not having to keep secrets from yourself, including secrets about the ways that you have managed to survive
