Comment - Both Jordan Hall and I are familiar with the concept of hyperobject but in this part of the conversation, Jordan introduced the idea to Micheal for the first time - This illustrates to me that truism that our perspectival knowledge of reality is unique - Our individual meaningverses and lebenswelt are uniquely located and situated in life - And whenever a multi meaningverse events, the ensuing conversation is collectively - consciousness expanding - expanding the - semantic fingerprint and - symmathesetic fingerprint - of all conversants
Word
I expect to learn from this paragraph is why words mean what they mean and how the are used to make sense. Depending on how things are worded, they could mean different things and this paragraph will teach us how to use proper language.
Word
This paragraph will teach us about the languages used when chatgpt was first started and how it was created.
Word vectors
I'm not very familiar with the word but from what I'm thinking, I think in this section it'll give us a overlook on how language models process language in a deeper or more complex level.
Transforming word vectors into word predictions
In this section, I think we'll learn how word vectors are transformed into different relating to sentences when their generated in ChatGPT.
THE NEW Al
The section would most likely give an overview towards original type of AI and compare it to new methods of AI. Such as, the adaptive or learning type of AI.
AI'S ORIGINS
I believe I will learn from this paragraph is the background of AI and who and how it was discovered and used throughout the past
AUTOMATED
Going off the heading, this section will explain how AI writing has been used in different ways for years, it is just now more prevalent than ever.
Ue
Going off the heading, this section will talk about how Artificial Intelligence came into our education and the impact it had.
AUTOMATED
This section will go into some history and explain how people have always used shortcuts to automate the writing process, and that AI is just its newest form.
INTRODUCTION
This section of the chapter will introduce the basic concepts that will be expanded upon in later sections of the chapter.
USERS
A lot of people tend to be against AI because they think its creepy or flat out wrong, this paragraph is going to help us understand that anyone can us AI for any reason and help colleges and students understand that in certain circumstances AI would be helpful for us.
Ue
This paragraph is going to help introduce what AI is an how we can use it for education.
Students will see the value in feedback when they know that instructors monitor and track-back to feedback messages.

here are badges for progress, statistics that keep users motivated, and also a clear menu that helps to navigate the application easily.
Using an issue tracker without them is, in my opinion, a little like using an outlining program that only supports two levels of nesting, or like using Wiki software that doesn't have the concept of reverse links. Makes me sad!
Track changes for each screen automatically – like Git for designs.
Also just by observing what they’re doing it becomes pretty clear. For example: Facebook recently purchased full-page ads on major newspapers entirely dedicated to “denounce” Apple. Why? Because Apple has built a system-level feature on iPhones that allows users to very easily disable every kind of advertising tracking and profiling. Facebook absolutely relies on being able to track you and profile your interests, so they immediately cooked up some cynical reasons why Apple shouldn’t be allowed to do this. But the truth is: if Facebook is fighting against someone on privacy matters, that someone is probably doing the right thing.
“We believe that this is a simple matter of standing up for our users,” said an Apple spokesperson in response to Facebook’s first full-page newspaper ad yesterday. “Users should know when their data is being collected and shared across other apps and websites — and they should have the choice to allow that or not.”
Hi! My name is Mark Koester. I’m a phenomenologist and technologist. I ponder life’s fundamental questions through an on-going exploration of human experience and behavior, and I design and build “enablers” or tools (mostly digital products, books and, of course, this blog) that attempt to maximize human potential, health and creativity. I also love speaking, teaching courses, running innovation events and programs, and building product-centric companies.

COVID-19 has remained the leading infectious cause of death in L.A. County
L.A county still being infected with lots of cases is crazy. There are still cases being made and it's still very dangerous especially with people who don't even have their vaccines or boosters. Its especially dangerous for older people.
we've tested people varying portable eye 00:14:11 movements here along the dono canal the danube channel a big park in the center of vienna and we had people walk um for 300 meters wearing these glasses that recorded what they saw 00:14:23 and where they looked at
if you're exposed to a scene depicting two people different slightly in level of attractiveness or don't even if they differ not at all 00:13:32 and we measure eye movements then the more eye movements people that that we can find on a certain object it's not only true for faces also other objects but in phases particularly 00:13:44 and here you see the more red the more eye movements landed in the face of in this case a white person and this is a clear indicator that this person here found more beauty in the right than in the left face and that's very reliable

I would think that this would be one of the easiest things to measure and also would provide significant and useful data. We should check in with Brian (?) to see what data is currently being tracked.

This sounds a lot like hospitalists fall under David Graeber's thesis in Bullshit Jobs that the more necessary and useful you are the less you're likely to get paid and be valued.
I suspect the ability to track an employees' direct level of productivity also fits into this thesis. One can track the productivity of an Amazon warehouse worker or driver, but it's much more difficult to track the CEOs direct productivity.
Much like the way the Obsidian journal plugin counts words within one's daily journal page, this app counts zettels within a folder to help encourage one to maintain some level of output.

Research has shown that, across disciplines, experts look in ways different from novices: they take in thebig picture more rapidly and completely, while focusing on the most importantaspects of the scene; they’re less distracted by visual “noise,” and they shiftmore easily among visual fields, avoiding getting stuck.
Experts have more practiced levels of visual perception of surroundings that provide them with information more quickly than novices who don't yet know what or where to focus their attention. Teaching with eye tracking technology might help to bridge the gap between novice and expert more quickly.

“Over the next five to ten years people will start to learn the importance of privacy and keeping their data,” says Moore. “Facebook’s business model is all about tracking – they are not a social media company, they are an advertising company and if they can track you they can make more money. Apple has got nothing to worry about, but Facebook could be gone in ten years.”
Over the years, the machinery of targeted advertising has frequently been used for exploitation, discrimination, and harm. The ability to target people based on ethnicity, religion, gender, age, or ability allows discriminatory ads for jobs, housing, and credit. Targeting based on credit history—or characteristics systematically associated with it— enables predatory ads for high-interest loans. Targeting based on demographics, location, and political affiliation helps purveyors of politically motivated disinformation and voter suppression. All kinds of behavioral targeting increase the risk of convincing scams.

One of the most successful began with a simple exercise aimed at helping the leaders to define their three highest priorities. Then we took them through a structured exercise including delving into their calendars to assess whether they were using their time to best advantage, including setting aside time for renewal. This process prompted them to examine more consciously why they were working in self-defeating ways. We also developed an online site where leaders agreed to regularly share their progress on prioritizing, as well as any feelings of resistance that were arising, and how they managed them. Their work is ongoing, but among the most common feelings people reported were liberation and relief. Their worst fears failed to materialize

When someone asks if you have time for a meeting next Tuesday, you may have nothing on your calendar, so you say “sure.” If you hadn’t agreed to the meeting, you would have done something with that time - but what? By getting clear on what the “what” was that I could be doing made me better at saying no. When you say yes that one hour phone call next week, you are saying no to revamping your sales page or going to the gym or getting home an hour earlier. There is not always a right or wrong answer, but if you realize what you are saying no to every time you say yes, then you can make a judgement call: “Is this phone call more important to me than going to the gym today?”
By blocking in your calendar in advance you make future tradeoffs explicit. You are no longer saying yes to a meeting on Thursday. You are saying yes to swapping out your gym session for that meeting (or not).

A real-world example of this would be an e-commerce site that allows users to “hold” items in their cart while they’re using the site or for the duration of a session. In this scenario, the technical cookies are both necessary for the functioning of the purchasing service and are explicitly requested by the user when they indicate that they would like to add the item to the cart. Do note, however, that these session-based technical cookies are not tracking cookies.
I'm not sure I agree with this:
[the technical cookies] are explicitly requested by the user when they indicate that they would like to add the item to the cart.
The only thing they requested was that the item be held in a cart for them. They didn't explicitly request that cookies be used to store information about items in the cart. They most likely don't understand all of the options for how to store data like this, and certainly wouldn't know or expect specifically that cookies be used for this.
In fact, localStorage could be used instead. If it's a single-page app, then even that would be necessary; it could all be kept in page-local variables until they checked out (all on the same page); such that reloading the page would cause the cart data held in those variables to be lost.

This tool will allow you to create a customised cookieless Google Map that does not use privacy-invasive cookies.
Google uses cookies like NID and SID to help customize ads on Google properties, like Google Search. For example, we use such cookies to remember your most recent searches, your previous interactions with an advertiser’s ads or search results, and your visits to an advertiser’s website. This helps us to show you customized ads on Google.
Most Google users will have a preferences cookie called ‘NID’ in their browsers. A browser sends this cookie with requests to Google’s sites. The NID cookie contains a unique ID Google uses to remember your preferences and other information, such as your preferred language (e.g. English), how many search results you wish to have shown per page (e.g. 10 or 20), and whether or not you wish to have Google’s SafeSearch filter turned on.
They seem to claim (or hope that their description will make you think) that ‘NID’ is only used for storing preferences, but if you read further down, you see that it's also used for targeting.
These should be separate cookies since they have separate purposes, and since under GPDR we have to get separate consent for each purpose of cookie.
Vimeo’s embeddable video player uses first-party cookies that we consider essential to the video player experience. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies when our video player appears on a third-party website.
YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode basically means they do not store visitor’s information if you have a YouTube video on your website, unless they actually click on the video to view it.
Many people see tracking cookies as an invasion of privacy since they allow a site to build up profiles on users without their consent.
YouTube's default setting is to leave privacy-enhanced mode off. This allows them to place a tracking cookie on any computer that a viewer uses to visit your webpage.
The problem is that even if the visitor is not watching the video or interacting with it, in any capacity, YouTube still collects and stores data on them. Not cool. This is done using cookies that are placed on the user’s browser the moment they load a webpage with a YouTube video embedded in it. These cookies are used to track users, serve targeted ads (Google’s bread and butter), and add info to user’s profile. Yes, they have profiles on everyone.
Default YouTube video embeds set cookies on user systems as soon as they open web pages with embedded YouTube videos. Google may use the cookie to deliver targeted advertisement, add information to the user's profile, or track the user.
I've tested it and it won't load NID cookie, so no need to get consent for it.
You can also turn off personalization for your browser by installing the Interest-Based Ads Opt Out extension.
Google is one of many ad networks that personalizes ads based on your activity online. Go to AdChoices to control ads from other ad networks.
Uncheck the box next to "Also use your activity & information from Google services to personalize ads on websites and apps that partner with Google to show ads."
You’ll still see ads (but they may be less useful to you)
It wouldn’t mean an end to being able to target ads online. Contextual targeting doesn’t require personal data — and has been used successfully by the likes of non-tracking search engine DuckDuckGo for years (and profitably so). It would just mean an end to the really creepy, stalkerish stuff. The stuff consumers hate — which also serves up horribly damaging societal effects, given that the mass profiling of internet users enables push-button discrimination and exploitation of the vulnerable at vast scale.
And if people were really cool about sharing their personal and private information with anyone, and totally fine about being tracked everywhere they go and having a record kept of all the people they know and have relationships with, why would the ad tech industry need to spy on them in the first place? They could just ask up front for all your passwords.
From an ad tech perspective, the concern is that manipulation doesn’t work when it’s obvious. And the goal of targeted advertising is to manipulate people’s decisions based on intelligence about them gleaned via clandestine surveillance of their online activity (so inferring who they are via their data). This might be a purchase decision. Equally it might be a vote.
It is required by the GDPR as you must document cookies and online tracking at anytime and you must be able to show that documentation to both your users and the EU.
Consent Model. In the case of GDPR, you must choose the Opt-in. This means that you cannot start tracking people before the consent was given.
there are third-party cookies, such as those placed by advertisers to see what you’re interested in and in turn serve you ads — even when you leave the original site you visited. (This is how ads follow you around the internet.)
